I know Steve will kill me because they are over priced for what they are but I'm really thinking of getting a Roush in the spring. I don't want one of the limited edition models but I'd love a stage 3 as my next car. Will have to test drive it first of course. Coming from the M3 I'm hoping the Roush will be more of a fun car and a car that actually sticks out of the crowd

In the US it is 16.8k on top of the cost of the car, so probably 45-50k total. But it includes the Roush body and interior work, full suspension, and supercharged 540hp with the full factory warranty. So its probably a better deal than buying all the same mods individually, especially since you get the full warranty.

why not get a regular 5.0 and throw a supercharge on it? roush mustangs are nice cars, but i think they are a bit overpriced.

Doesn't sound that bad. I assume labor is also included in the price. And warranty is always a good thing to have.

The 2013' Mustang GT is said to come with a power bump to 420hp, Recaros with be optional, Boss 302's Trosen LSD / FD, 4.2' display (engine/ performance stats) and some other stuff I don't remember.

Just having those Recaros alone makes the GT a much more attractive option because the seats are arguably the only real flaw (steering feedback could be better as well). So I'm guessing nicely equipped it'll be roughly ~ 36-39K.

There are many options and configurations. If you want the full-blown Stage 3 Hyper Series, you are looking at $27,300 above the base price + options. That's $59,945 to start....

There are some wild color combinations and as usual with Roush, you get their 3-year warranty.

Yeah the Hyper series is pretty cool, but pricey. If you really want one it's a great deal mainly because you keep the warranty. And they actually have pretty good resale.

Yeah the '13 gets some nice options added. I will probably be getting the Recaros to add to my '11... they are awesome seats.

HOLY MOLY. First off, I can't believe this thread was re-opened. Dan, you have power beyond the gods. Nice to have this thread again. But yes, let's keep this thread on topic. Bottom line, a car is a car is a car. EVERYTHING could be argued as subjective. If you don't like it, you don't like it. No need to bash. Can't we all just get along?

To ZMan8, regarding the questions on the 5.0.... to me (again, this is MY opinion, so take it for what it is), the 5.0 does feel bigger than the Z. When I was on stock springs, it definitely felt like it had more roll and was a little more floaty than the Z. But I have since lowered it on K springs (all else is stock, susp wise), and it rides much better, and corners much better. I'll never track it, no desire to, but to me, it feels as good as the Z did now. The addition of my panhard bar also helped in overall feel...just feels more "stable" than stock did.

Back seat is not huge, but it's THERE. Now I can put my kid in the back, and take my wife along too. That's the primary reason I got rid of the Z. We have another one coming in May, so the Z had to go.

I love the transmission. I have since switched to an MGW shifter, replacing the entire shifter assembly. NIGHT AND DAY over stock, and again, my opinion, way better than the Z. Dan, Steve, you guys need to do this mod. ASAP. If you think the stock shifter was good, the MGW is on another ethereal plane.

Braking wise, I liked the Z brakes better... esp the versus the rear 5.0 brakes... looks goofy being that small. Again, I don't track, so I can't compare it to how well and short it actually stops. But in terms of feel, I do prefer the Z's.

It's just a DIFFERENT car than the Z. Do I love the 5.0? Yes. Do I love the Z? Yes. I love them both... Some things I don't like about the 5.0 and the Z as well... to each his own.

EDIT: How can I talk about the 5.0 without talking about the power and torque???? sheeesh how dare me. But yes, in one word???? ADDICTING.

:iagree: stay on topic people.

Man you guys are really starting to make me want to test one out  O and about the Z transmission....:wtf2: My one complaint with the car to be honest.

However, every car has its + and - so I appreciate the honest opinions here.

Yes, not sure if you read my story about how I ended up with the 5.0. Let me find the link and post it here. But bottomline, a 20 minute testdrive of the new 5.0 did it for me. All prior misconceptions I had were just that, a misconception...ill advised. I was a believer after 20 minutes.

As far as Z tranny, yes that was my one big beef. I got tired of it being labeled as "normal". The rattling, the sound of marbles, etc..... The 5.0 tranny is smooth but not without faults. It was a little vague, though short shifting. The MGW I did resolved all that.

Let me know how your test drive goes. And yes I would have LOVED to keep both cars in the stable... but I could not, since I am not so financially inclined as you may be. But yes, you will have the best of both worlds!!!
