i would trade it in!
|
Just picked up a 2011 WRX hatch. I noticed the pedals being too slippery almost right away. Figured I just got oil on them from walking around in the dealership parking lot for a while. Guess not.
|
I lightly scuffed mine with some sandpaper and it helped a bit.
|
I suppose you could also place some non-slip adhesive strips (the ones they use on exterior stairs), or find some aftermarket stainless steel pedals that have rubber protruding out of the holes.
|
SPR Racing metal pedals seem to be popular. Another albeit considered low grade is to tape it up with skateboard grip tape. I'm thinking of doing that.
|
interesting info... yah, i think those tapes will work great but might be too grippy...(?)
i'd do the aftermarket pedals too. :) |
My brakes are really squeaky just as I'm coming to a stop. Started noticing this after I washed the car three days ago. Doesn't seem to change even after a few applications of the brakes...have you guys noticed this too?
|
^ not mine....
|
Me neither. Maybe check your pads?
|
Do WRX and STi have the same Brembo(?) brakes? I've heard Brembo brakes can be noisy in different makes and models. Perhaps I need to put some high temp grease on the backs of the brake pads.
|
Only the STi has the Brembos.
|
yah the stock pads on my G35C's brembo's were very squeeeeky at low speed/light brake application. Endless pads + BrakeQuiet fixed it permanently. :p
i'd remove the pads and put some brakequiet on there for starters.... if that fails, try other pads (or get it replaced under warranty). |
day ???? of subaru ownership:
this paint is SH*T. |

nothing, just another day of typical daily driver ownership. i need to claybar already to get a bunch of trapped dirt out of the paint.
and i got a rock chip on the front that punched two pieces of paint off. meh. i'm going to clearbra it this upcoming weekend and protect it from any further damage. i might swing by a dealership and grab some touchup paint. |
Always a good idea. I went 24" up the hood to include the hood scoop and quarter panels, full front bumper, and mirrors.
|
the hood scoop gets absolutely battered in normal driving. i can't wait to get the car CB'd next week. even though it has a few issues already at least it won't get any worse.
|
The paint isnt nearly as the paint was on my 370z. My mirror on my Z scratched the first day of ownership. I've taken my WRX offroading in a sandpit twice and the paint still looks new

I think the STI is a great car except for one thing.....it's UGLY!.

Haters will hate. :roflpuke2:

Not hate'n. It's just ugly imho.

Thanks for the 100% agreement...:bowrofl:

my paint is pretty strong. I love the car besides the fact that the rear sags. Red_Zed what how do you like the wrx compared to your mustang?

i think i just got hit with a humongous rock. there's a lot of roadwork around my area so one probably took a good swipe at my car. i just need to grab me some touchup paint and it'll be fine. |

I need awd though, and if you need it, the subie is a no-brainer |

Phelan, just a few pics to show you what the functional shark fin antenna looks like installed on my sedan.

Visual Garage has a second version that is meant to incorporate the sat radio antenna and that should fit you. Contact them through their website if you're interested and ask them about it. I replaced my Z with a 2011 STi sedan (spark silver) back in June. All I've done is added a front strut-brace and Cobb Stage 1 running the 93-octane map (I fill with 94). It's plenty quick for my DD needs, although I would like to do the downpipe and CBE at some point. Already have my winter wheels with Blizzak LM-60s ready to go. I miss my Z, but there's no way I could use it as my DD during the winters in Canada (I moved here from Georgia, where the Z was perfect).
