yeah current gen 3's are about same MPG for both models. I'm averaging around 17-18 right now, since its mostly city driving. Next gen 3's are really going to come into play, turbo charged i-4's for the new 328's and single turbo'd i-6's for the 335's.

i'm actually thinking of getting a 335d as the next car. again, I don't need 300hp for a daily driver in brooklyn.

The new 3-series with the 8-speed will be averaging 32MPG highway (335i) and the I4 will hit 36MPH highway.

The current 535i with the 8-speed auto does 31MPG highway. That's incredible.

I have a new 328xi and a 2009 335i, great cars but having lived in NYC and driving through those same roads every week...That Sport Suspension is the worst for handling the NY & NJ Pot holes.

Nice car toxik. I sold my Z back in March and got an 09 335i coupe, same color combo (alpine on coral). I love it and do not regret the move at all.
