First look from Motor Trend. TT V8 with 555 bhp and 500 ft-lb of TQ. Also gained like 200-300 lbs over the last M5 :ugh2:

I like the look of the old one better. AWD would have made it better too.

Would have liked to see BMW go a little more aggressive with the M5. Sick engine, though.

Same here.

I disagree. They took a ton of flack with the appearance and styling of the V10 M5. imo, the E39 M5 is still gorgeous, and I think this look hearkens back to that a little.

Subtle, clean, and timeless lines. The E60 M5 began aging the minute it appeared. The F-series M will not suffer the same fate, it's more akin to the E39, as Shado said. I love it.

I don't get that. Personally, I like the look of the V10 a lot better. The new 5 series looks more like a whale :icon17:

Proper Bimmers, though, are RWD machines, and their design is pretty, yet subdued. The Bangle era Bimmers were radical, and while they looked good from some angles, they were dreadful from others.

Anyway, most bimmers are a huge waste of cash anyhow. You're usually paying for the badge more than anything else.

Same with all luxury/exotic cars. That's why I would never buy one new. You can get one that's slightly used and save tens of thousands of dollars. It's still covered under warranty to fix any issues. You can also use some of that money you save to buy yourself an extended warranty.

My favorite M is the E46 M3. I love the flared fenders and wide stance - made it look much more aggressive than the standard 3 series. Today's M3s and M5s just look more tame to me. But I'll reserve final judgment until I see one of these new M5s in person.

Love it!
