They also used it in the T-tops of my old F-body. They were quite $$$ to replace.

As to scratching/whatnot, I never noticed anything untoward about them. Seemed to hold up.

yea, seemed pretty resiliant.
but it was my rear hatch window... so it didn't see a lot of action..

I would suspect Lexan can be polished out. It is a lot tougher than glass if safety is your concern.
