That would be pretty serious. Maybe they'll add a TT to the big V8 engine :yum:

it did say atleast 400bhp... so it could be much more. also, they may lower the price.. making it more affordable and more attractive to a "poorer" man's budget.

as far as if they offer a big v8 and a smaller turbo v8.. that just seems silly to me.. not finacially wise, nor from development stand point..
unless last years Big V8 is being offered as the "base" model... lol

I can't imagine them lowering the price much more. You can already pick up a vette for about the cost of a Z.

h.p. figures seem modest at best. The arial atom V8 is a 3.0L without turbos making 500hp. Chevy usually makes big numbers with their engines.

the atom is tuned a lot closer to the ragged edge. You'd never be able to run that car to the grocery store.

Also worth noting is the AA engine is supercharged....still FI.

I didn't realize they were that cheap

you can pick them up for 44 with no incentives all day. Of course, being a GM product, there are always at least 5 grand worth of incentives on them.

Isamu 06-08-2011 04:51 AM

Time to pick up a new Vette... lol

I agree with the aggressive tune. But the base AA is supercharged. I believe the new V8 is a 3.0L NA engine.

I believe you are right in that the US spec model is NA, but I also think it "only" makes 469 hp. Still pretty impressive when you lay 150 hp/L, even if it is at 10.5k.

Yep, we have been LOL'ing at journalist speculation for a while. We know when we hear it, and it's anything that matters, we will hear it out of Bowling Green. Otherwise it's just...hearsay.

I want to take a small displacement v8 with a turbo for a ride.

Lemers 06-10-2011 12:40 PM

You would take a 3.7 v6 for a ride too
