A well deserved win! I knew GTR will be one of the TOP competitor for this title. Congrats to Nissan for making this amazing machine!
100% true, this 80K monster is the best value for your money. Bye Bye to the VET for having that title.
GTR is sweet...
I want one after my 370 and my truck! :D |
(...ONE YEAR LATER...) Godzilla rules!!!
congrats to nissan for not following the toyota and honda trend.
Like I wrote above, in the latest edition of Car & Driver, they commented, "Godzilla Rules!" (Why do they call it Godzilla, dudes? 'Cause of her power?!) BTW, in Puerto Rico she's a $130,000 monZter! P-o-l-i-t-i-c-i-a-n-s!!!

OMG I had no idea!

There was some kinda issue with a lever used for an extra-torquey takeoff ("launch control" or something of the sort). I read that Nissan was planning on addressing that problem by eliminating the "launch thingy" (?), and adding 5 to 7 more horsepower. Is anyone up-to-date on that?! That would put the monZter at, about, 513-520 dynamometer horseys!!! Whoa! How 'bout the torque, does anybody here know the ft/lbs on the beaZt?! Greetings, dudes!
I'm seriously considering the GT-R as my next vehicle, though that won't be for another 3-5 years. :/

I don't know where you get the 513-520 dyno hp from either, 2009 model dyno's approximately 420-440 at the wheels with 480 at flywheel. 2010 model received a 5hp increase at the flywheel - 485hp. Both models have 434 lb-ft. |
I was thinking about the GT-R as my next one but I think I'll get a few year old 911TT just so i can bang gears.
Hey, Chad! Somewhere in the first, long post (above) it states that, when they performed a dynamometer test on her, it posted/yielded 510hp. It was hard to swallow for me, too, but, then again, I'm an ignoramus on automotive stats and mechanics! About the "lever" bit, it just goes on to prove my previous assertion, dude! Thanks for the clarifications. Bottomline: I love the GT-R, but it's waaay outta my league, at pre$ent---especially with the local price for that monZter! The 370 looks a bit more feasible. God has everything in His hands; time will tell. Greetings!

launch control has been fixed for almost a year now no more issues... yes the 2010/2011 GT-Rs do get 5 more HP the average stock GT-R dynos between 410 and 420 to the wheels on a true dyno |
