Amazing what this beast can do.

ACR Viper beat Zr1

Has sport auto or walter rohrl ever put up a time for the GTR?
|
But that doesnt beat the ACR time though right? ACR is like 7:22 something if I remember. Is ACR even a production car or a specialty car?

|
That's insane...
Nissan is pumping out very nice cars lately, makes my heart real happy! [: Socal, I was going to cry if it was a white gtr LOL! But it's silver! Has black rims though [: |
How's the R34's track record look?

it was running the SpecV wheels |
Ummm... Any more complaints from Porsche??!?!? MAN.. they owned themselves with those bold claims that Nissan faked the numbers.
Who is laughing now!! |
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Nissan lets teach the world who is the King!!!! :owned: |
By the way the car is a "stock" genesis GT2. A little bit more modified than the GTR that nissan runs in the RING.
First of all, slick tires, different suspension set up since its the Japanese version (europe and the US can only dream about being the same) and the well known higher boost trick. You can flame me all you want but its the truth!!!!!!!!!!. None of the magazines or car manufacturers buying a stock "unmodified" GTR were able to get NISSAN's claim time. So the difference against this modified "genesis GT2" is just which car has the most modifications, since they both have them. If the GTR is so freaking fast why doesn't one tuner modify it and beat the genesis time???????????. Because they can't. :stirthepot: |
Thank you for the video my genesis friend!

BTW for the other posters, the ACR is a full on production car just like the GT2/GT3 Porsches so no the GTR is not the record holder as the thread title states. ACR is 7:22 the ZR1 is 7:26. Maybe the Spec V will have something for the ACR but I think it should at least tie or edge the ZR1's time possibly. BTW I still have trouble with the normal GTR's time at the Ring since no one else has come remotely close to those times in independent testing. |
they just sat a new record 7:26.7
4 tenths off the ZR1 in the base model 2010 SpecV time is yet to come. predicitons are in the 7:18-7:19 range |
Oh wow. They re ran the gtr? Is this gtr modded in any way or was it stock?
I wonder how the spec V will do. Quote:

100% stock
|
^ How's the GTR treating ya?
|
still amazing , thanks for asking. i was getting a little used to it but after a a little exhaust work the thing is alot faster now and about 50 times louder so im enjoying it like new again
|
Very Impressive! Looking forward to the V-Spec

While I do like the GTR, I've got a problem here. Everyone touts about it taking out the Z06 and coming so close to the ZR1's time but has anybody noticed any kind of response from GM?
None, and its not just because they're almost bankrupt. They went there ONCE, four years or so ago with the Z06, set the record and never came back or tried to top it. The same thing has been done with the ZR1. They went there once (possibly twice if you believe their 7:22 time that's been thrown around) and never came back. They don't care, they proved they could build the badder beast, whereas Nissan continues to go down there time and time again and do every little thing they can to out do everyone else. Its a little paranoid if you ask me, not to mention sketchy since nobody else can match their times. ...imagine if someone with a stock ZR1 or ACR cared as much as Nissan does? Would make for a fairly epic three-way battle if you ask me. |
I don't understand why everyone makes a big deal about times set at the Nurburgring, anyways.
The track is so long and has so many corners there are so many variables that will affect the lap time. It's very difficult to get a perfect flying lap there so any lap time that is put up really isn't going to be a true indication of a car's performance. Far too much is in the driver's hands to rely on Ring times as a measure of true performance of the machine. And remember the times generally are manufacturer quoted... it's not like a sanctioned racing event where an unbiased party (a timing computer) uses transponders on the cars to time the laps. I remember a big stink about one of the GT-R times Nissan released was from a flying lap whereas some competiting car was from a stop. Just a bunch of nonsense that means absolutely nothing. Yeah, the Ring is an awesome track... but these times aren't a big deal at all. |

Would like to see the ACR take a month at the Ring, give it appropriate gearing and suspension and aero to optimize it for the Ring like the other cars instead of the 3 days prep and 4 hours lapping they took to break the record. Any way you slice it any car that dips below 7:30 is something special. |
