The difference really isn't that big.

Like I've said a few times before, not all IRS is created equal. Ever compare the Z to the Cayman S? There's quite a big difference in how the two cars perform over uneven surfaces.

The whole lay-out of the Cayman is different.

As to bad roads, I live in Louisiana. We have lots of them.

Right. But you can still pinpoint areas in the suspension where the Z doesn't do it quite as well as the C.

Hell compare the Camaro SS to the 5.0. The 5.0 handles way better even over choppy roads. :bowrofl:

Worst state in the nation. I drove through on my way to Texas a number of years ago (in a Mustang GT, no less) and hated every second of it. The roads. The people. The smells. I couldn't wait to :gtfo2:

I think I went south on 55 and then west on I-10.

I guess the 1/4 ton difference is made manifest...

As to Porsche vs. the Z, they are just totally different setups. Everything about them.

Right. But per Nissan the Z is intended to take on the C. :)

By the numbers, it does. There is more to the driving experience than numbers, though.

Lemers 04-06-2011 09:16 AM

I bet with $20 k worth of up grades to the Z. The C wouldn't keep up with the Z

I understand that. But if Nissan is telling me, "hey, buy this instead of the C" I want to see how it stacks up... :icon23:

haggomyeggo 04-06-2011 09:36 AM

personally I like the looks of the Z more than the C. I like the aggressive look. The Z's interior is plenty good for the cost of it and the car rides well enough for my tastes. Now you put someone like my dad into my car and he thinks it rides terrible. Now just so you know he drives a 2010 chevy suburban that feels like you are floating over ever bump.

I also dont like the image of the porsche. Especially anything not a 911. and i really dont even like those save for the GT3. for the price of porsche i can buy a lot of other things that i feel are better. b

but i do agree dynamically you can compare the Z and C if not the CaymanS. I think car and driver compared the Z with the CS and it did pretty well on paper.

m4a1mustang 04-06-2011 09:39 AM

Well there's a reason I chose to buy the Z over the C. :D

I want a Z 04-06-2011 09:48 AM

and still a fugly interior

Too bad it looks like a clown car :icon17: sorry couldn't resist :tiphat:

Seriously, if I was gonna buy one of these retro-look American muscle cars, I'd take the Challenger, hands-down. The 2012, not the previous schitbox. Damn thing is beauteous, and omfg it's huge.

I used $20k due to the premium that the C already has over the Z.

I know, but modded vs. stock arguments are always silly. You could take a Civic and put 20k into it and it'd decimate all.

Comparing two car that are $20k apart at MSRP is just as silly.

you can decimate all with only 10 maybe 15k if you have to over night the parts from Japan.......

so im not sure why you need 20k??:roflpuke2::roflpuke2:

You seen gas prices recently? Overnight shipping fees have skyrocketed!

oh ive seen them. You know the 370 is getting the exact if not a .5mpg better than my old 350z but i find myself freaking out about gas.

I think its that dang light up gas tank bar thing. Its like everytime i give it the beans a light goes out and its like a star goes out in the sky and im depressed....
My only real complaint. that and i cannot find which screen i want to keep on that little screen in the middle.

Instant MPG--pretty useless
Ave MPH--ok but when it goes down i dont like it
Time over Distance--pretty useless unless i am on a long trip
outside temp--dont really care i have windows
miles in tank--this think is all over the place, i dont know what to think
the menu screen--who wants to look at this all the time

what was wrong with a digital speedo too
only real complaint about the 370 interior

m4a1mustang 04-06-2011 01:24 PM

I always kept it on outside temperature.

haggomyeggo 04-06-2011 01:26 PM

what kind of mileage are you getting with your mustang

pretty decent for sitting in traffic. My morning commute is only like 4mi so its not bad. When i was driving over the STL i hated traffic.

In an apples to apples comparison, the Z isn't as fast or prestigious as the Porsche, but for the money, I think the Z probably wins the "more fun for the buck" argument.

this argument works for the corvette for about the last 10 or so years and they have one of the worst interiors ever

I would only need 15k, but I bet that s2k has at least 100k under the hood.

haggomyeggo 04-06-2011 02:56 PM

it would get pretty pricey if you put the nos bottles under the seat cushion too

I'm not gonna get sucked into another F&F quoting session. You guys probably think you almost had me...
