Audi R8, v10. Same color scheme.

This is one of my favorite cars. I don't think I'll get to own one unless I win the lottery, or you guys take up a collection for me :excited:

for slightly more $, I'd rather get the LP560.

My brother just got his in November. It is absurdly fast.

I'd rather have the R8 V10. For $2500 Audi installs the Stassis ECU which removes all the limitations on the motor and tunes it, bringing it to 570HP, all the while maintaining the original 4 year warranty from Audi, and the better build quality.

And (this is of course my opinion) the R8 looks better than the sharp, jagged, and aging Gallardo.

Also, the LP560 doesn't cost slightly more than the R8 V10. A base R8 V10 costs $150K. A fully loaded one costs around $170-180K. A base LP560 costs $210K in the US before you even build it. Then you have to add $1500-$3500 for a color, any color. $10K if you want E-Gear Auto. $4K if you want a cup holder and heated seats. $6K for Navi + Camera. $16K for Carbon Ceramic Brakes (only $9K for the same brakes on the Audi).

If I option out the Lambo with the same/similar options on my brothers R8, it's $170K vs. 240K. Definitely not just a "slightly more". That's pretty much a used GTR or new M3 money.

I saw an R8 in person about a week ago. Pictures don't do them justice. I love how unique they are. They don't look like anything else.

here you're looking at $200k for the R8 V10 vs. $240k for the LP560 spec'ed out similarly. $40k is minimal when talking $200k+. I prefer the styling of the Lambo as well.

The R8 is probably the only car that I could reasonably afford in a few years that I'd get over the GT-R. And no, there is not a chance in hell of owning both, unless I won the lottery, or moved into a 1 BR apt in the ghetto.

Speaking of such, idk if you've ever been to NJ or flown into Newark Airport, but Newark has always been, at least since the race riots in the 60's, one of the worst crime areas in the country. There's actually a booming aftermarket for boosting these things. A used V8 turbo would probably beat the pants off of the V10 model at much less of a cost. IMO the best thing about supercars is their incredible lack of re-sale value. My dad just passed up an 09 Murc with 2k miles being sold for 130k. Many people who buy these do so when their businesses/investments are on a huge upswing. Then when the (usually inevitable) downswing occurs they become desperate and dump them at a huge loss.

I was behind a V8 R8 on the highway today and idk what it was, maybe the heat shields from the exhaust manifold, but something was hanging very low to the ground, about as low or lower than the mufflers on the FI exhaust or the flanges on the ARK GRIP. Anyone?

Going to have to completely disagree. A GT-R has potential to be quite a bit faster, but there's no denying that the Audi is:

1) Better looking
2) Better built
3) Better interior & interior quality
4) Cheaper to maintain (surprisingly)

Plus every mod on a R8 keeps the car covered under warranty. The $25K Stassis Supercharger for the V10 bumps power up to 710HP-730HP and if any problems arise, either Audi or Stassis will cover them to be corrected at an Audi dealership.

2012 Gt-R is fastest production car around Nurburgring tho (not sure about Corvette ZR1 time tho, this was according to the Nissan release). I just got an email from Nissan last night about it.

Unfortunately, The Ring is in Germany. And 99.999999% of us will never experience a GTR, or any car, on it. :P

Yes of course, but that is the bench mark for performance cars to compete on for fastest lap times. It's the ultimate test really, given the track characteristics.

better looking is a opinion. I don't like the look of the R8. its a pretty car but its just another audi.

better built: probably though I don't have a R8 to compare it to.

better interior: opinions are different but I prefer the GT-R's look. the only complaint I have is that some of the buttons feel cheap.

maintenance: Don't know how expensive it is to maintain a R8 but the GT-R isn't that expensive to maintain. we had what? 2 oil changes.


+ you have to compare the price too.

a R8 is WAY more expensive. with the money you pay extra you could pay for parts and maintenance for the GT-R for years to come.

and meh warranty. depends on the dealership. our dealership is completely fine with mods like exhausts,intakes,intercoolers,dumpvalves and so on.

the only thing they take away warranty for is if you do something like working on the internals of the engine. increasing the 3.8 to say 4.5 and completely reinforcing the engine. but other than that they don't mind.

I got the same email. But the time they stated was 7:24:22, which was their old time (2011). The Porsche GT2 RS's time was 7:18.

The Porsche costs more than twice that of the GT-R. I'd def go Nissan. I could afford a GTR in a few years but I'd never afford something like the gt2RS. Plus it would take a huge investment in driving lessons to get anywhere near the potential of what that car can do.

Not dissing the GT-R in any way. I prefer the Audi's styling and the fact that I can get it with a MT.:driving:

I agree on the styling and the choice of MT for sure. But in terms of $$$ the Audi's hold their value almost tooo well. Even a used v8 R8 is hard to find for less than 80k. You could find a used GTR for around the same price as a fully loaded brand new 335 convertible. I'll probably be looking for a 2012 model in 2015 lol.

For sure the GT-R is way more affordable. The GT-R just doesn't turn my head like the R8. I mean, my head would turn if a GT-R went by, but that's because it's a GT-R, not because of the styling.

The looks of a car seems to be one of the more powerful factors for me when I get obsessed with a car. I'm so superficial! :-)

for me its the opposite way.

the GT-r turns my head because its way more rare than the R8 over here.

+ whenever I see a R8 coming towards me I ignore it untill I see the side and notice it isn't just another 1.8 diesel.

I think this is the best looking car under 100k.. to bad its slow
