Well, i was following up with this car from one year.
100% the car will have a Boxer engine with turbo that will develop 275+ hp 100% the car will be lower priced than the 370z (they mentioned it in the Reveling of the car at Geneva Motor show) The production will start at the end of this year ( some countries will receive the car at the beginning of 2012) There will be fancy version Which is the FT-86 G ( will include some carbon fiber parts perhaps same the above pics) 0-60 toyo-Baru claiming flat 5 seconds!! well, i bet that all of the above info will be true and u will see them in the production car!! :tiphat: |
^ where did you get all of this info from? I'm not doubting you I just want to see it for my self as this is the first time I'm hearing of this.

Flat 5 sec. with 275 hp at the crank. I doubt it unless it weights less than 2,000 lbs. and had gobbs of torque. Unlikely since most are saying a N/A 2.0 litre Boxer 4-cylinder. Adding a turbo will place it closer to the Z price range. No way they can justify a turbo'd vesion for under $30K USD. |

I don't see it having a turbo. I WANT it to have a turbo, but the 2l boxer they are throwing in it hasn't been mated to a turbo yet. Likewise, I know Toyota was pushing in the NA direction. Also, if it did have a turbo and it is as light as they say it is, it would be faster to 60 than 5 seconds. |

Will definitely be on sale in 2012 in Europe, tho'. Price is, last I heard, in the upper 20K's USD now, but that too has not been confirmed. |
this car would make a nice dd.

i heared that it will be with a scion Badge in the US, but i dont agree!! if that soo. it mean that it will hit the middle east with Daihatsu badge!!
i think it will come with Toyota Badge all over the world!! i heared also the Toyota renewed the trade mark of the Supra in the US!! but i dont think they will use it in time being or will use it for the ft-86!! |
Everything I've seen on this car states a target of 2700lbs for weight with it chances being somewhere between 2800-3000lbs. Power is supposed to be a N/A with 200-220hp. No plans for turbo or AWD. Again, thats just what I've seen on different message boards regarding this car. Even the Suby boards are saying it will be the first non-AWD car from subaru and won't even get a turbo. I guess we really don't know until it comes out

more and more sounding like yet another soft japanese failed product. sigh...
