I'm sure a lot of engineering went into the design of those bumpers, but I wonder how much of a difference it makes compared to previous years.

that interior wont be available in the US market.. even if it was that white car speced out the way it is is probably almost $200K

MSRP for the regular 12's isnt announced but a price increase is expected.. i think best case is 2500-3K to make it a high 80's car.. but it could top mid 90's.. all depends on if they bring back the base model or not and if they try to bring the car in alignment to what its priced as in japan..

for instance... when the 09's came out they were priced similar in the US and Japan with the Yen conversion.. but when japans 2010 ( our 2011 ) came out... it jumped to about 108K USD converted.... the 2011 ( our 2012) only went up just over what would be $2K USD but there is now a huge gap between the cost of the car in the US and Japan... so its unknown if this new car will be another bug jump in the GTR price.. as most know the car is already priced at $13K more than what we orginially debuted at...

my official guess is $89K but we will see in a few weeks

yeah i couldnt have done it... as much as i love GT-Rs if they said Matt where gonna take you around the ring flat out.. i dont think i could do it..... i would have been in the floor board the whole time... im one of those people that if im driving then i can go balls to the wall 150mph on a track but riding with someone im a total bitch and i get that horrible sensation in my stomach.. might have something to do with being scared of roller coasters as a kid or something.. haha

speaking of the ring.. it looks like the GT-Rs time is going to be in the neighborhood of 7:21.XX beating the Viper ACR.. so thats roughly over a 5 sec improvement over the current mode GTR

yeah the current time is 7:26.7 and at the ring this weekend they said on OCT 18 they will make a global announcement of the car and debut the new time which is a new record... and to my knowledge that record is held by the ACR with 7:22.xx so that leads me to surmise its 7:21 something.. but we will see in 2 weeks ( yes a porsche GT2 did 7:18 but it wasnt the full course)

the new power comes from a ECU remap and changes to the cats and muffler sections.. so thats 45hp with new suspension.. more rigid chassis and check this out... a new dunlop tire( its just the new version of the current DSST 600 CCT summer tire ... not sure what the change is though)... add all those up with Suzuki driving and i can see 5 secs

it looks like the turbos are the EXACT same ( as is the transmission) and the rumor about them being larger is not true.. i know the SpecV had a different turbine blade design so who knows if it adapted that under the radar or not..

im hearing its from yes more boost and a less restrictive exhaust set up.. and larger intake piping... basically they are doing a factory version of what alot of guys have been doing for a while now... even so the factory exhaust still will obviously be more restrictive than any good aftermarket... so i will atleast keep my HKS racepipe to use.. still 50/50 on using the legamax or staying stock cat back

It will be interesting if the turbo is the same and the same PSI but they changed piping and exhaust (plus tune), will show some great gains on the stock turbos.

yeah well a midpipe and exhaust on a stock GTR can be 20HP+ with no tune and about 2-3 mph in the 1/4 mile... then add a tune with just those bolt ons and your 70-80hp+ easily.... Nissan is going 40-45hp and still using 4 cat converters... and what appears to be just a slightly larger muffler section.. will be interesting to see what the PSI # is right now its 11ish so 12-13 maybe?

all i have to say is i'm a fan of the blue tips :roflpuke2:

one thing about it, i like the placement of the LED strips now vs how the "OEM" ones from the JDM looked cheap and tacked on. these obviously look like they were thought of in advance but also maybe a bit more in a vulnerable spot compared to the old style

yeah sort of a F1 style LED... and look close that part of the diffuser is dry carbon..

the car is really stepping up its use of materials.. i think in person its gonna feel and look more high end than the current car

in the UK this thing took at 10K jump in price.... its not looking good for a modest price bump here in the US...

a walk around of the car... i can notice the exhaust is a little less muted at idle.. not a lot different but a start

i'm digging everything except the side vents on the rear. that blue is just incredible!

MC--my new prediction for $$ based on the UK bump is now $95K for the US. I don't think nissan is willing to let the GTR drift over $100K here...yet...

that's a significant price hike over where the '09 GTR's came in at, especially the pre-orders for essentially the same car, just tweaked. still, the blue looks so amazing it might make up for it.

I suspect Nissan purposely undervalued the GTR when they brought it here to the states since it didn't have the "street cred", for lack of a better phrase, to get people to take a Nissan seriously that was priced at 6 figures, even though it delivers performance to warrant it. The R36 will be a $100+K car I bet. Nissan has established the GTR's credentials here now and they'll be able to get away with a $110K price tag assuming the R36 is even more awesome than the jump from the CDA to DBA R35. At 110K or so, it'd still be a steal for what you're getting.

as for the price bump... UK gets 10K bump... 60 GBP to 70 GBP... japanese only gets $2K bump ( but the way the yen coverts they are already at 110USD)

so yeah i think best case 89K then up to mid 90's like you predict... we should know in about 4 days

If it's a realistically low-mid 90's car, are you still gonna make the jump or just wait it out for the R36?
