Raptor

I don't consider myself a truck guy, but as soon as I heard about this, it did strike my interest. A factory offroad vehicle made to take a beating but still retain its warranty. 400 HP doesn't hurt either. Thoughts?

Yeah, but what trucks are real eye catchers? For the most part, they all look the same anyway :D

Arcangel 03-08-2009 10:52 PM

BanningZ 03-08-2009 11:04 PM

Behind quiky marts, through retirement homes, in and out of congress, and around the sun.

frost 03-08-2009 11:05 PM

frost 03-08-2009 11:16 PM

If I knew of anywhere to take it, I'd think about it. I'm sure there are tons of places outside of phoenix, but I don't normally look into offroading.

Arcangel 03-08-2009 11:19 PM

yea im a performance guy, the only truck I ever owned was a dodge ram SST why because it was fasssssst

frost 03-08-2009 11:26 PM

I've done crazy fast, but you barely get to use it. Which is why I'm going for the Z this time; handling is more useful, and it's still a quick car.

Arcangel 03-08-2009 11:35 PM

yes as I have aged (like a fine wine) I have realized that racing is not worth it.

frost 03-08-2009 11:37 PM

I love racing, but i'm too responsible to do it on the street, and going to the track is an hour journey. But you can make use of handling or running over shi- anywhere :D

Arcangel 03-08-2009 11:38 PM

Exactly my point a time and place for everything!

LiquidZ 03-13-2009 11:33 PM

This truck needs a machine gun.

Got almost everything ele:
400hp
Fox racing shocks, allowing over 11" of travel
SVT front control arms
Massive front skid plate
Huge aluminum running boards
Full size spare
That new tailgate step, which seems pretty convenient, assuming it doesnt break.
paint match interior available
4 aux gauges for aftermarket junk
air extractors in the hood (for what that's worth)

Just sayin, if I were an offroader, I'd be all over that.

jojo 03-13-2009 11:52 PM

i just want to know how much $$$$$ is that thing?

"Ford hasn't determined price or volume yet, though it promises a "value price" and a multiyear run."

Ford's tailgate step (for those who don't know what I'm talking about):

Hmmm...would be great to get around traffic here in Houston. Just jump off road and go around.

LiquidZ 03-14-2009 04:49 PM

P.S. I love Ford trucks. Wouldn't have it any other way.

StLRedrider 03-14-2009 10:16 PM

Amen, LiquidZ

frost 03-16-2009 11:19 PM

100 mph ... through the rough desert! My sports car can't do that!
