Haha--traction was a major issue. No need for a hardtop-- I like cruising top down:happydance:

I would at least put a cage on the thing.

It was street-driven for the most part (especially since I was banned from the track for lacking a roll bar), which means I drove it sans helmet mostly. A roll cage does more harm than good if you aren't protecting your noggin.

Truth. I would just drive around with a helmet on all the time. :rofl2:

Yeah, but the lack of visibility will kill you...not to mention attract entirely too much attention from local law enforcement.

1) all those upgrades to the engine and drivetrain, yet you still have the same crappy stock brakes? :icon14:

2) how much turbo boost are you running?

3) why did you go with so much power? does such a small lightweight car even generate enough traction to put the power down?

4) that is one lousy torque curve! even with a turbo, it seems you still have to get the engine all the way to 6000 rpm to produce any meaningful torque!

Red370 08-02-2010 05:30 PM

I dont even want to ask how much this build cost...

blue660r01 08-02-2010 05:33 PM

That must have been a nightmare to drive!!!

JACKPAC 08-02-2010 06:08 PM

At least there's no wheel spin with that torque curve. Must be scary though up top!

Stock brakes are more than sufficient for the car. With good pads, I never had any issues or reason to upgrade them.

That dyno was on 27psi of boost. That tune is for dragging. I've got a torquier street tune that makes about 514 whp as well.

It's hard to get torque out of these motors, and not really necessary. The car spent all it's time above 5k anyways, so there was no need o make power down low.

Red__Zed 08-02-2010 08:31 PM

Here's the more sane street tune:http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...er101/dyno.png

Making power high in the RPM range is kind of the nature of the beast with an s2k. They can be made to put down more power lower, but you run out of steam up top.
