First Test: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track

This is a quick coupe, for sure -- a Jag XK needs 5.8 seconds to reach 60 and to 14.3 at 98.3 to nab the quarter -- but not as brisk as several others in its class. The 370Z, 135i, and Mustang GT all put up better numbers.

sound like not very good low tech motor to me.
306hp? I am expecting better numbers.

thing about this car is a long tearm test .. drive it for 6 months+... then get back to me ...but is a cool looking car ...

I think it will be a great platform and a good competitor to the 370Z. They are already farther ahead in aftermarket parts development than the 370Z is unfortunately. :(

Mags are starting out with Genesis Coupe 3.8 vs G37 Coupe comparisons.

Popular Mechanics: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe vs. 2009 Infiniti G37 Comparison Test: Hyundai?s Bargain Sport Takes on the More Expensive G37 - Popular Mechanics

Edmunds: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 vs. 2009 Infiniti G37 Coupe Comparison Test and Video

The Edmunds 0-60 of 6.4 seems particularly slow. Motor Trend got 5.5 and R&T got 5.7. All of them used regular fuel so the the times should be faster with premium for the full tests.

pop mech says the hyundai has and extra gear then the G37S.. wrong if it is a )( G37S like the title says it has the 7AT auto ot the 5 AT. man if yuo write an artical get the basics right.

Perhaps most pleasing is the fact that the 3.8 consumes good old-fashioned 87 octane.
Looks like Hyundai left some room for improvement on the V6 motor.

Whoa, honestly, was expecting much better than that. Shame, I was hoping it would be a contender.

I think this car will do great!
Looks good, engine is good and the price?!
The price is what gets me.
Honda Civic get ready cause the Hyundai Genesis is the new modding car!:driving:

also those slow time were contributed by tagging the limiter which shut dwn the car for 1.5 seconds at a time...

Some tuning for 93 octane 330 crank easy.... You shouldn't be surprised in the long term either.....i don't beat my race cars but i beat my 08 Sonata something fierce...and it runs like a fine swiss clock. and pretty fast....beat some mercedes c class cars or were neck and neck...

Very nice stereo, interior.. I kinda wish i would have waited......really its every bit as good as the Nissan....i beleive ad better cause of it cost. that 3 grand will make it sceam that you save.
