A genesis coupe 3.8 would eat up a V6 camaro. What makes him think its gonna happen with a Z. Lol... anyway I liked the SS a lot when I rented but I wouldn't even bother with the V6. Maybe that's y he stayed talkin smack? He probably knows most enthusiasts would never buy a V6 camaro.

Enthusiasts wouldn't by the V6 Camaro but lots of people will, not everyone has an interest in going fast (my wife for instance). The V6 is peppy and plenty powerful enough for a normal driver, it still turns heads and gets plenty of thumbs up. Probably the biggest decider for people that have no interest in the extra power is price. The V6 manual starts at $22K, the 1SS starts at $31K but are impossible to find so you are stuck getting a 2SS at $34K+. That's more than a 50% increase in price, I would call that significant.

I have to assume that it's because the camaro's 4,000,000,000 lb curb weight keeps the tires from being able to lose traction off the line.

:D

2SS is basically 1SS + 2LT. I.e. it adds leather, auto-dimming mirrors, heated seats, upgraded stereo etc. The RS package is a separate appearance package you can add to an LT (V6) or an SS.

The V6 does not have an inspiring exhaust sound, although it is a full duel exhaust system. It's got a slight burble at startup but then it quiets right down and it never sounds excited even in the higher RPMs.

A coworker owns a 2SS. The stock exhaust sounds like a window-unit air conditioner from the 1990s.

If you want loud, B&B Bullets on the LS engines are pretty crazy.

OK so why was it $1250 and not a rounded $1200, or maybe $1303.5 ($1,200 and NY tax)?
