Infinity M56 S? What are Japanese smoking

now days? 5.6 L V8. They need to leave the Germans alone and concentrate on what they "used to do best" small, fuel efficient cars.

Red370 03-16-2010 09:34 PM

I actually think its a hell of a car, wouldnt mind having one myself. Also wouldnt mind having that 5.6 in my Z, 560Z anyone?

Red370 03-16-2010 09:36 PM

I mean, who wouldnt want 420hp from the factory?

frost 03-16-2010 09:37 PM

We will see how it does. Not sure there is a market for it considering they already have a quick 4 door car though. I know the m56 is faster obviously, but not sure there will be enough people who will purchases both.
They spell it "Infiniti" though :P

I'm sort of glad they didn't, or else I wouldn't have my 370z.

It would be the ultimate:bowrofl:the torque and exhaust note would be simply increditble. Of course the price increase would be intense, insurance rating would go up, and drivetrain would have to be beefed up, but what a killer.

I think the M56 will be a success. Its nice to see ONE Japanese manufacturer try to take it to the Germans (I'm looking at you Acura and Lexus)....

i think the real question is what are you smoking? Infiniti was never about small and definitely NEVER about fuel efficient especially ever since 2003

The G20 was "sorta" small and effecient with that little Stanza 4 cylinder that it had then...hehe

wishihadnav 03-17-2010 06:05 PM

yes this will be nice...be nicer if they slapped a supercharger on it...haha

Red370 03-17-2010 06:06 PM

I wonder of the Titan supercharger works...

No not the spelling police.:rofl2:

If you want a fuel efficient Japanese car get an Acura or a Lexus hybrid. Infiniti knows the deal. Bring the big stick or go home.

Are you an idiot? The new M37/M56s are a huge step up over the current gen M35/M45 in both quality and power. Infiniti continues to impress more and more with each new generation of cars they come out with....their the only Japanese auto company to really offer any thing exciting in the sport luxury segment. The new M series should make a GREAT BMW 5 series competitor....looks better in everway to me :).

Also i'm pretty sure the M56 will be a high 12 second car from the factory...

Tyrell Tyson 03-18-2010 04:05 AM

wow that is ugly

here is a real M56

http://www.prexis.com/sten/m56a.jpg

The M56 submachine gun appears to be a simplified clone of German MP40 submachine gun, adapted for 7,62x25mm pistol ammunition, which, compared to 9x19mm ammunition of MP40 provided longer effective range and better penetration, but slightly less stopping power. The M56 submachine gun had a relatively long service life.

M56 submachine gun is blowback operated, full automatic only weapon that fires from open bolt. The bolt system is of simple design, with exposed, large diameter return spring. The cocking handle is located at the right side of the bolt and doubles as a manual safety - pushing it inwards locks the bolt in open or closed position. The stock is copied from MP40 and folds down and forward to save the length. Sights are of open type, with flip-up rear, marked for 100 and 200 meters range. One unusual feature of M56 is that it has a bayonet lug on the barrel and thus can accept a knife-bayonet.
