Remember, dealers were trying to charge premiums up to like 6 digits

And some people literally paid premiums

Even when there was concerning speculation and the C8 reveal. I mean everyone's entitled to like things simply for what they are, or give things a chance, but there's a half of the consumer world that buys stuff just to try to make social statements. There were surely some people who thought they were the coolest s***. The 5 minutes of fame to be the imaginary talk of the town. With this car. This car.

I told those Bros4speed boys, there will be incentives on the Supra in 6 months. The Corvette is too much car. They said you were getting a loaded car with the supra. Well you're getting a better equipped car than expected for 60k out the door. Most of the options are performance, not convenience options. And at $70k? You can rock a pretty hot vette.
Supra premiums werent gonna last. And anyone who played more than $1 over sticker is an idiot.

Now they're offering $1000 incentive. They're gonna have to make it more like a $3750 incentive so j can roll out for 50k. It ain't happening. The supra should have had more toyota proprietary parts. Especially on interior design. It's a nice discount bimmer. But it's not the JDM car people wanted.
Despite all these realities. The car looks awesomely fun to drive. But price makes or breaks a car built like this one was...

I’m sure the 6 recalls and the “locking” steering rack had nothing to do with it. 🙄

I have a lot of car guy friends and not one has expressed any interest in the new Supra. I’ll bet that this is a generalized sentiment across the car enthusiast community. There was no way the new Supra could’ve been a sales success. At best, it’s a cheaper BMW and that is never a good thing. MINI comes to mind. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Toyota messed up big time and completely ignored the true Supra enthusiast and JDM car culture. Hopefully Nissan will not make the same mistake with the new Z if it happens.

Nice find. To be honest I like the looks of the Supra. I would take the 4cyl over the 6 and enjoy the ride and improvement in weight. So the car the BRZ and Toyota 86 should be lol :)

I really like the car. Both inside and outside. I like BMWs though so i'm not really turned off by the BMW aspect of the car.
i was very interested in getting one and they were offering like 5k off earlier this year (and this is in california) and that was before all this pandemic stuff was going on. The news of the 2021 supra dropped the price on the 20s.

I didn't pull the trigger because i wasn't sure if i wanted to take a hit on the Z on the trade in. While i was debating, this whole pandemic thing and shut down started happening so i guess i'm glad i didn't as business has took a nose dive.

The C8 looks great but when i optioned mine out it was like 83k and thats a little too out of my budget.

I want a new Supra but not for 50k...or should I say 49k.

Im not sure of the numbers but the NSX is in the same boat many new NSX collecting dust at dealership.

Probably the GTR nismo is next in line for most unsold sports cars. Even made in small numbers.

Well hopefully due to covid19 dealerships will reduce car prices and interest rates to get people in the door and cars sold.

cossie1600 03-29-2020 03:23 AM

I briefly thought about getting one, but between dealing with no cars for test drive and the markup, I just moved to another car
