Ford Mustang GT500

i was watching some vids on YouTube on this car as well as checking it out online - it seems like it could be a real winner for Ford. Granted the ADM is being added when you search for one online but I am wondering how this car will stack up against others within it's price range. Any thoughts about the new GT500. The one thing I find funny is when you look at the configurator - the base model GT500 is actually cheaper than the GT350R.

Dragrace between a hellcat/ZL1 and GT500:

For the Chevy fans - seems like C/D preferred it over the Mustang:

Lol @ ADM.

Dealerships did the same thing with GT350....and fast forward to now even CarMax has an abundance of them to choose from.

True - it seems like anything the auto industry puts out that is remotely interesting and gets car enthusiasts excited - its like all the dealerships are like:
'I'm sorry sir - the car at MSRP...yeah, no....we expect $5-10k more - in cash please'. UGH - I'm just sick of every car seems to be coming with ADM (such as the Civic Type R) or....the dealer isn't willing to haggle.

And worse yet, some people actually pay that premium for these. Cars like this get its 15 min of being that special, then the demand quiets down some, then next thing you know sales guys be calling potential buyers “we have one here at MSRP, do you want it?”

A buddy of mine went through this experience trying to buy a Raptor last year, dealership wanted a $5k ADM. No deal. 6 months later, called my friend back offering the same truck at MSRP, friend was like “too late, already bought something else”.

Not every car is a Porsche GT cars, where everything about them still gets appreciated after decades.

What blows my mind is that dealers don't realize how much they kill their own brand when they do this. For instance, a lot of people are NOT Mustang fans (I think we all get it haha) but when the GT350 came out and they wanted more than MSRP - it's like - you already have a person who wants to buy it AT MSRP (they understand they can't haggle the price at all)....and you are still trying to extort money from them. And its like this car is so cool that people who would never consider this particular car is wanting to buy it.

If nothing else - unless that person is a diehard Ford/Chevy/Dodge/Honda fanboy - they are going to leave and probably never look to purchase a vehicle from that particular brand. I won't lie, I have been looking for a Civic Type-R for a little while now. I kinda want a 4door with that 'Honda reliability' as well as fun factor. Seems like all the dealers aren't charging ADM but they are charging about $4-5k on 'added' options - the last car I asked about - was $46k OTD. I was like 'it's a Civic....c'mon man' haha. And yeah, I feel at that price it opens the door to sooo many other options - new and used.

I just don't get it.
