Infiniti Q50 and 60. The almost cars...

Reading this article reminded me of my test drives of both the sedan and coupe. Nissan... gave these cars some amazing characteristics while letting down in some key areas. Transmission responsiveness Engine exhaust sounds. The nunbest uninspiring steering feel in the business. These cars deserved more engineering. When it came to performance... All the money stopped at the engine. Though I was amazed at the Red sports power, body style and the seats... I wasn't inspired by anything else about this car. Almost everything I test drive was better than it still. Giulia BMW... (N that's hard for me to say.) Mercedes Camaro Mustang Corvette Even th Kia Stinger had an edge on this car. You can feel the potential in these Q cars to be the competitive car to beat. But Nissan just didn't put their hearts in this one... I think a DCT and maintaining hydraulic steering also giving the exhaust note a nice sound track were the key 3 elements needed to make the Red sport legendary. But Nissan dropped the ball... AGAIN. |
I've never been a fan of the engine exhaust sounds Nissan manages. The first thing I put on my 370Z was a CBE (Berk, and no, I don't recommend them.). They need to take notes from Ford on how to make an engine sound good, IMO. Even in the 90's, for all the things they did wrong, Ford had that down.
