Nothing but Moosetangs in the future

Interesting how Ford finally realized they have a bunch of duds and will kill their sedan line up. Move forward in 2022 will make nothing but mustangs, trucks, and SUVs.

I have a rental 2018 Mustang GT ragtop for a few days. I was able to thrash it on Rt 1 in Minnesota from Silver Bay to Ely. It’s almost 75 miles of rough and smooth twisty two lane road with nobody on it, I mean nobody. So how does it drive? It’s ok for what it is. It’s got multiple modes of normal, sport, sport plus, and track. Each mode adjusts the throttle and steering, and the exhaust note. It’s a 10 speed auto and I tried my best to work with it, on some occasions I did pretty well. I was able to get it to shift when I wanted. Steering was ok but a few times I almost wadded it, till I realized I better not even try to drive it like my Porsche 2009 911 C4S. So once I did that and my brain adjusted to where the roll center was, thst is just where is the turn axis located, I did better. Brakes were ok, but better not trail brake into a turn or it would push and if you hit a bump, it skipped out on you.

I’ll have it a few more days. But it’s snowing now so maybe I’ll set it to snow mode.

Would I buy one? Don’t know yet. Not to sound like a **** but after driving my 911 C4S for a few years, most other cars don’t match up.

Comparing a Mooostang to a Porsche is like comparing an apple to a tampon.

They're not the same? :rofl2:

Ford really wants to kill the Fusion and Focus? I'd have thought that these were bread and butter lines, and also the fleet MPG getters which allowed extravagances like the Mustang. "America wants utility vehicles" - yeah, until the next hike in oil prices, they do. When oil hits $100/bbl again, customers will run away from the 5,000 land yachts just like they did the last time. Unless Ford really plans to electrify their fleet by then. That's a whole other set of problems.

Funny thing is I find that surprising that they're cutting out focus and fiesta...those ST/RS models were pretty damn quick and oddly popular...well around here anyway

Yes, here too. And I see more Fusions on the road here than Honda Civics (which is the best selling "car" in Canada for something like 19 years running).

I would love to see an apple work it.

I suspect that after they rid themselves of these cars, they switch over to electric models. I doubt they would not have anything electric.

Definatly an odd play...I've seen quite a few fusions around here too. Same with the Taurus. Ford sells well here...guess not well enough lol

I thought I read they were keeping the Focus hatchback?

I thought it was just the trucks and Mustangs were sticking around. Everything else was going to the wayside.
