The back looks like a 70's camaro. Crazy!
|
Ewww...looks like a rip off design of the Mazda RX-Vision concept..Hyundai to me will always be the car industry imitators and never the innovators.
|
You can’t out run Hideous, worst resale on the vehicle market right next to Kia,overpriced POS,fall apart, and unreliable.:barf::thumbsdown::shakes head::rolleyes:

Hideous and Imitators is correct. Nothing innovative here. Next...

At least they're making a NEW sports car.
Mazda concept been around forever. Where's the car? Nissan???? Lmfao Mitsubishi. They don't even have an active rumor. Subaru? Afraid to go past 205hp Whose doing anything on their own without collabo's? Hyundai. I'm sure my camaro resale value isn't anything to write home about. N looks are subjective. But I'd take the track challenge on most **** out there... My point is... We need sports cars. Ugly or not N Hyundai got balls for creating. |
An acquaintance at the track last week after only two runs in his 2017 Hyundai Genesis G90 5.0L V8 his 02 sensor failed, cylinder head gasket blew, and poped his engine. Hyundai’s reliability and dependability was always questionable.

From a FACTUAL standpoint. Kia Ranked #3 in 2017 Hyundai ranked #10 https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...they-stack-up/ So both brands are in the top 10 for reliability. When I bought my Z, Nissan ranked #11. Nissan is still #11... Never had a problem with my Z. Yet troll the forums and you will find complaints out the wazoo... Is the Z an unreliable car??? |
Who takes a g90 to the track?! Lol
|
I like it!! With vehicles like the Kia Stinger it's nice to see someone doing something in the touring/sports car game!! Have to hand it to them.
|
Korean cars are like Korean food and Korean woman, all great for the short term. Longevity is not in their lexicon.

why does it feel so natural to cringe or feel disgust when I look at Hyundai though. Aside from the fact that my wife bought a new 2013 and it had so many issues, ended up being a "lemon". Bad taste in my mouth maybe. |
I dig it. I always said I don’t care if JCPenny puts a sports car on the market, at least SOMEONE is creating them.
|
The positive out of this can be taken from something new being done. If Nissan decides to do 'something new', we can expect it to be good. I doubt they'll ever to a collaboration project, and if they keep it pure it may be something really nice... who knows. But I agree, more sports cars is better than not, no matter who makes them.

But it's easy to have EXTRA dislike for Hyundai as the general population thinks low of Korean manufacturing over Japanese. Despite successful companies like Samsung, LG, HTC, etc... We hold on to 30 year old perceptions despite real facts. Unfortunately, Our nation was designed this way for reasons that go against forum policy to discuss, but that culture drips into the consumer market. Second, Hyundai was the broke persons car the first 15 years it existed. Since we also have an engrained disdain for being or owning anything marketed as budget or poor. We don't want to associate with cars that gained ground marketing to the nation's lower class. No matter what Hyundai does to improve. There will be a segment of people that cant shake indoctrinated thinking. Many people will always think it was that cheap quirky car for perceived losers. It's a perception. A subjective thought. Not a reality. As far as lemons? All cars have lemons. My neighbors BMW is always getting worked on as most of my BMW owning friends. He has more Recalls than Schwarzenegger. Yet BMW has been sold to you as the ultimate driving machine. Its an indoctrinated perception of BMW. The one that put that title on BMW was BMW. Society was kind to BMW and supported this. Not saying BMW doesn't perform well. But there have been many equal or better, more RELIABLE cars that don't get that label, Hyundai in the past, had problems finding a suitable transmission pairing in a couple of models. But this was rectified 7 years ago. Hyundai had iron cast parts in cars. This also was rectified 7 years ago. Hyundai is now capable enough that they can focus on performance. They've only existed 31 years or something like that? No company has come up so fast. Hyundai uses DCT instead of CVT. That in itself allows me to respect them more than Nissan as a collective whole. This is my subjective opinion. I hate CVT. |

Nissan and Mazda with the Altima 4 cylinder I'm sure they're not allergic to collaboration. |
Saw this at the NY Auto Show and it looks great but seeing it in person it's just too concept carish to ever see anything close to it in production. The whole front would have to change to put in a practical suspension.

Couldn't have said it better myself sir. Hyundai gets a bad rap due to making budget friendly and boring cars throughout the many years of their early development. Things have changed quite a bit for them and they really are trying new and exciting ideas. Check out that Kia Stinger....stupid name but one hell of a car from an "on paper" standpoint. As for the Japanese manufaturers they are mostly moving away from those sports varieties because in truth they really don't sell as well as they once did. |
