Would you buy a Z/28?
The previous gen Camaro Z/28s are going for under 50k now with very low miles.
7.0liter LS7 from the old Z06 (505hp) Carbon Ceramic brakes 305 square stance R compound tires Spool valve dampers Torsen LSD Recaro Seats Fairly limited production (only made for 2 years) This thing MSRP'd for 75k when it came out. Seems like a steal these days if you can get past not being able to see out of it very well and the loud nature of the car. https://di-uploads-pod4.s3.amazonaws...-Z28-Specs.jpg |
It's a hell of a track car. It would probably be a miserable street car - don't you have to special order it to get AC?

I drove one a few years ago. Loads of power but the vehicle, IMHO, felt very heavy and cumbersome. I didn't purchase it then and I definitely would not purchase it now.

Not as a DD car, track and Sunday driver only. It has no AC or radio. Plus those R compound tires have 150 tread wear or something...you will quickly burn through a set and they are pricey!

They are straight up track car. They always amongst the fastest cars at track events! Not for me as stated camaros just ride bigger than they are. My brother bought his wife an 2 ss and it's nice, the clutch is like butter and it handles way better than I thought but it feels like a bloated tick!

while it would be a little more expensive if you want a perfect performer for the street and track with near super car performance go for the new ZL1. You can get one for about 62k if you opt out of the add ons like the PDR. My girl just got one and it is just fantastic. Yes, the seating position/window takes a little to get used to but not very long. The car has power for days and grip is fantastic. While it's a heavy car it doesn't feel heavy by any means. It obviously won't feel like a miata or sup 3000lbs car but it doesn't feel any heavier than my 370z did or my current corvette does. Even my 84 300zx doesn't feel much lighter. My 2600lbs 280z does feel substantially lighter. Point is, I don't think most people will notice the 400lb difference of the Z vs. the Camaro.
