I doubt it... the article says the weight reduction puts it just under 4300 pounds.

They need more traction not more power.

A diet sure couldn't hurt either lol

DCNISMO 01-19-2017 06:39 PM

Looks like they added fender arches to get wider tires on it finally.

That puts the Demon at only a half-a-ton heavier than a GT350. :D

Dodge Demon

Can't believe I have not seen a thread on here about this car. 840 HP and 770 torque. 9.65 1/4 mile. Very impressive! Sadly only 3,000 will be produced in the States.

wonder if they will release it? You know insurance company's will be licking their chop's to quote you insurance on this one.

ChaseZ 04-11-2017 09:14 PM

Three different maps from the factory. The top one is a little over 1000hp on race gas.

Apparently NHRA has already banned it from their tracks.

Front suspension unlocks for weight transfer from a dig.

Air conditioning rerouted to charge pipe in certain maps/modes.

9.65 1/4 mile stock
2.3 second 0-60 stock

Didn't watch the reveal so just going by the few things I've spheard since then this afternoon.

Redglare 04-11-2017 10:39 PM

Most impressive... but,

I think everyone is more excited the price hit used hellcats will take, $40k low mileage hellcats for everyone!

Spooler 04-11-2017 10:43 PM

Would love one for the wife.. LOL

so if you buy one, where legally can you go to see if goes like is stated....
wondering if it becomes a buy and park....

Raeshlavik 04-12-2017 08:19 AM

If you can swing it, buy one now. As an investment.

This is the kind of thing that football players wrap around phone poles in the first 24 hours of ownership... That 3000 will be 80 in like 5 years. :)

I predict quite a few of these things will get wadded on the ride home from the dealer.

Touché! I didn't search as I assumed (I know) that it wasn't in the top threads recently.

old guy 04-12-2017 03:44 PM

I've read that this demon has only a drivers seat ... This is some serious sh-t!

DCNISMO 04-12-2017 09:09 PM

You can spec it that way.

SINISTER 04-12-2017 09:31 PM

The original Hellcat was a POS...I owned it for 6 months and sold it and purchased the 370z nismo. Here is why:
1. Superchargers were all crapping out...bearing issues and they were being replaced for awhile then Dodge started to reject replacements telling people it "may be normal"..and to wait.... To replace costs 12k so out of warranty you just made an expensive car more expensive. I hope they fixed the supercharger on these ...my guess is its the same one.
2. Vibration at 75 to 80 mph had to get it road forced balanced multiple times. Typical problem with their wheels and tires...every time you change tires...your going to have this problem.
3. Came with 275's on the rear..(nismo 370z comes with 285s so this is ridiculous) impossible to hook up on the street an accord can beat you from a dig because you own a burnout machine. To correct this problem guys were using semi drag radials on the street...the problem is this put more strain on the drive shaft and any damage Dodge would not cover DS. Plus your burnout machine is now a hazard if it rains...
4. Was over 200 inches long, 4000 + pounds, wide, horrible handling virtually felt like steering a boat versus the 370z.
5. Rust seems to be an issue, mine already had some ...I live in Houston. The Nismo I purchased which is a 2013 zero rust -nothing...Hellcat 2015 too visually present in suspension and engine...
6. Cost ...I purchased mine for 58k used...my Nismo was 28k ...1/2 the price! No way the Hellcat was worth 2 x my nismo.
7. Power was amazing....but honestly unusable anywhere but the track so 90% of the time you are using 1/4 of the pedal or less. The saying goes something like this: it is funner to drive a slow car fast then it is to drive a fast car slow...this I can say in my experience is 100% true.
8. Hellcat is like a triple cheeseburger. Sometimes too much is too much..just like a triple cheese burger the hellcat is big, messy and just too much. Stick with 2 patties or less..:inoutroflpuke:

I am sure they have fixed some of these things, but I am sure they have not fixed them all...I will say the supercharger whine was intoxicating....that almost made it worth it every time you gave it some gas it felt like hell was coming behind you and sounded like it too!

You can get the Snap-On tool box for the Demon. It has Hydraulic floor jack,
Cordless impact wrench with charger, Torque wrench,Tire pressure gauge, Fender cover,Tool bag.

If you get the Pre-Stage Kit. You get a whole bunch of goodies.

The Dodge Demon Comes With Speed Parts In The Trunk - Hot Rod Network

The trunk is set-up to haul your stuff to the track.

JARblue 04-13-2017 07:06 AM

I gotta say that's pretty slick

Zoren 370 04-13-2017 07:32 AM

Why will I buy a car that is associated with a demon?
Just saying.

That is pretty cool but the internal price tag on those things which no one sees is in the car and believe me your paying for them... probably 2 x what those things actually cost aftermarket. Have they announced MSRP on the Demon yet? Because the "me first" crowd will probably add a 20% to 33% premium to it...remember the Hellcat was supposed to be MSRP 60k when they came out but they were being priced in the dealerships at over 80k...

Rusty 04-13-2017 12:07 PM

Any tool with Snap-On is $$. This will be even more. Read where FCA said the the Demon with be under 6 numbers. BUT you know dealers will mark it up over that. FCA is only building 3,000 for the US and 300 for Canada. This might be the last muscle car for the quart mile. Ford and Chevy have turn their pony cars into road course cars.
