Initial quality means jack today. Almost every car above 20k is pretty decent off the shelf. Kia os trying real hard with the Stinger and it definitely looks great on paper. But Stinger sales aren't exactly record breaking and 50k for it is a hard pill to swallow. In my opinion it's G70 cousin is so much better looking.

The thing is, JD Power is literally a marketing company.

Initial quality is the amount of warranty visits within the first 100 days. Has nothing to do with quality, but almost entirely how non-picky the owners are.

I can agree that the G70 is a nicer car and I'd actually consider that. But I promise you. If the 370z got a build quality rank? There'd be a lot of D**k suck in round here.
The fact that it's a less significant award is a valid point due to modern manufacturing...

BUT, this is a car company that sells cars between $15,000 and $52,000 that has eclipsed a quality standard of a company that sells cars from $58,000 to $1,000,000
I actually drove the stinger so I'm not talkin out my Aziz. It's a good and competitive car for the money. When I pass dealerships in Texas. There's new ones coming out with temp tags. I see them on the street here.

People keep arguing $50k for the top line Kia, but u can forego the power trunk n some electronics n purchase for 44k. N the 50k is equipped like the 56k Infiniti. And all the buttons etc are more tactile in the Kia. While the Infiniti boasts better aluminum parts n shapes. I think these cars kinda draw in value. N knowing that their build quality standards are shooting up isn't a bad thing.

But like I said. Haters gonna hate.

Should be interesting to see how these respond to tunes. So far Looks to be a mid-range torquey motor just like the VR30. Both cars are making gobs of torque coming on at just 2k. God damn, makes me have a little buyers remorse for buying a VQ instead of a VR powered Q50.

After driving turbos most of my life, the Z took a long time to get used to. Totally different power delivery. I miss it sometimes, even the new Civic (turbo) feels punchier around town.

The Kia dealership I drive by often has like a dozen of them sitting out front, and made me realize I've yet to see one on the road.

I'm guessing we'll start to see a lot in a couple years when you can buy one for 20k.

Looks like they barely sell 1200 a month. Brand panache matters in this price point. It's why Infiniti/Lexus exists! And now Hyundai's own Genesis.

I had a 3.0TT Q50 loaner and the mid-range in that car is great. I love revving my 3.7 but everyday driving g having all that torque so low was great. There are Q50 jb4 guys with down pipes showing +75-100wtq in the mid-range with it coming on around 2k rpm. Crazy!

The Kia is 3900 lbs but feels as light on its feet as the red sport and gets more feedback through the steering wheel, so you know what the tires are doing in the kia... not the Infiniti. The Kia engine murders the 3.7 and has progressive torque till max boost when you finally hit the pop. The red sport is more like an NA giving you a particular amount of sudden torque in more RPM points than the Kia. But that said. The Q red sport transmission is an abomination. The Kia isn't. It's snappy and responsive so it doesn't muddle the sensations of its excellent engine.

The Kia stinger doesn't eclipse the Q but people that value different aspects of performance would lean toward one or the other if they can get past Kia BIAS.

But honestly. I don't think the q50 will survive the G70.
With the weight reduction and even more aggressive transmission tuning? The current Kia transmission is already way better. A sportier tune in the G can only make this car a threat. Honestly. The only car really standing far ahead In this pack is the Alfa Giulia. N their price point rivals Kia in the Ti Sport. U want a car that puts Kia, Infiniti and even BMW to shame???? The Giulia, hands down. Nothing drives like it. Genesis is gonna have to work miracles to get next to the Giulia. Same with the infinit.

Lol. Thanks for the afternoon amusement.

I gave the most honest review of three cars that I've DRIVEN . If anyone here isn't a sedan guy. It's me... Any OG on here knows this.

JUST the fact that id give that much respect to the Giulia is a miracle. I still bought an acura tlx 2.4 tech dct. I hate Acura in looks. But at 21k. It's a lot of luxury great on gas n room for a low price. Do i feel like, wow, I own a ac? No! Are my aspirations to get a sport sedan? Not sure. I'd rather get an Alfa coupe.

Even my camaro. It was hard to get into a muscle car, while 6 years in a Z n owning the Infiniti g, a 240sx n a Mazda rx7. I hadn't bought muscle since 1990.
But despite the camaro being not my first pic. It drove too much like a vette for fork up $30k more to have all the same features n damn near the same performance.
I let the driving experience lead me. Not brand loyalty.

So u know what u can do with your sarcasm. :tiphat:.

Yo, I don't have a dog in this hunt... just thought what you said, particularly that phrase, was funny... made me laugh. I'm not critical of what you buy, like or drive.

I would not worry about Kia at all. They are higher to insure, tend to get totalled in most accidents and at the end, they will have a lower resale value than Nissan any day.

I just looked at the bread and butter cars IN MY SALES REGION..

A 2016 Kia optima ex with 26,000 miles is 18k
A turbo ex is valued much more than a SL

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=206792006

A 2016 Nissan Altima SL with 30,000 miles is $14k
A 3.5 sl is about $16k

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=180152459

Where u get all these statistics u talking...
If you state it... prove it otherwise u talking trash
