List of Japan collectibles. Z's are amongst the group.

Tough Toyota heads list of Top 10 Japanese collectible cars

Japan made great cars in the 70's and 80's despite the redneck movement of that era to demonize anything made in Japan. Today Satsuma and Toyota have some classics from that era now coming into there own in the millennium

240z
260z
280z
300zx

I have a really nice Z31 for sale. Collector car? Maybe, but it's not drawing collector car interest :shakes head:

I would love to own the classic 240z and one of my favorite 90's JDM sport car the 300zx one day..when I have a 4 door garage and the money :P
Glad my previously owned car made third place the FD3S, but I can't believe the s2k made that list

If it's not a turbo. It's probably why?

Would like to learn the criteria used for this list. Ranking is a little odd.

The literature doesn't specify the exact gen on some of these cars, but according to picture the 3rd place RX7 isn't represented by the FD3S.

Also...Z32 ranks ahead of JZA80. No NA1 NSX but yet a S2k makes the list. No R32 GTR. It's a bit weird.

Why can't you believe that the S2k made that list? That thing has some outstanding engineering put into it even compared to our Z's or any Z for that matter. Its pretty much a track car out of the box and is probably the most reliable Japanese sports car next to the NSX. I might be biased because I had one but man that car is hard to beat in terms of fun factor and there really isnt anything like it today.

Having owned that car I did not think it would make the list, was not impressed when I had it 2 years. Low end torque and at high speeds over 100mph car did not feel solid. Yes, it was built in the same factory as the NSX and hand built but my RX7 was more fun to drive and much better looking. Hence, the discontinued s2k..I would have the new mx5 than the honduh.

Shame my S2000 on a non-staggerd setup felt plenty stable at high speeds even on the stock setup. I agree the RX7 looks better and is probably the better drive but the reliability issues are enough for me to steer clear. Surprised you would rather go with the MX5 over the S2000 I drove one and couldn't justify the lack of power when I could just have an S2000. Anyways I think the S2K is well deserving of its place on that article regardless its great qualities overshadow its negatives.

S2k was way too over rated.
