350Z mayhem....

Is it me or are there 350z's consistently being involved in accidents, fatalities, and speeding on a weekly basis? I am assuming it is because you can now buy them used fairly cheap and most are now driven by the young immature Or mentally unstable?
Here are a few articles, one being in my state and one next state over. You can expect premiums to go up if this trend continues....

Nice Juke. How do you like it? I'm in the market for one as a dd.

Thanks! If you don't mind a CVT its not bad at all. They only have the 6MT on the FWD and where I live in Maine I needed the AWD which is CVT only. I think its great for a DD. If you're looking for a nismo though, I suggest going with the RS.

Zbrah 04-14-2016 02:42 AM

Glad to hear that you like it. I didn't care for them before but more recently I find myself checking them out on the road now. A RS would be awesome if I can find a one for a good deal. Those recaros are damn nice to have. If only Nissan would have made it easier to swap those seats to my Z, I would be gunning for the RS no doubt. I am actually leaning toward an auto and possibly an awd as this will serve as a daily and also my baby hauler so my wife is allowed to drive it whenever she wants. She has her own car, but I think it's a good compromise. I get to keep my Z =). My main concern right now is cargo space. We have a pretty large stroller, even folded down it still requires a good amount of space. I'll be testing one very soon. Kinda excited about this car.

NISMO IX 04-14-2016 07:51 AM

The biggest complaint I have seen was boot space, with the back seats in the upright position there is not a lot of room. For weeks on end I found myself running around without my seats up and that's when I realized, I don't "need" back seats, I should get a Z too. If space is more your thing and don't mind jumping out of the funky, check out the Murano. You can get an entry level for around the price of a nismo juke.

i kinda like the rogue too, but the tail lamps look so blah.. :ugh:

RicerX 04-15-2016 09:12 AM

It's gonna get this way for the 370 as it gets cheaper as well.

Near me, G35 coupes are now primarily driven by punk *** kids with tons of plastidip all over them. I say punk *** kids because they drive like ******** and give Infiniti drivers a bad rep. Sad days.

NISMO IX 04-15-2016 09:49 AM

Yes indeed, not just plastidip, I had seen what I thought was a GTR. Nope, as it past the back of the car gave it away, it was a G35 with a front nose kiit. Even sadder, I believe it was a sedan.

NISMO IX 04-15-2016 10:09 AM

I guess a positive spin to this all, the more that get smashed, ruined, or totaled(unfortunately at the cost of human lives), eventually the value of the 350z will start to go back up. May take quite a while but I feel optimistic about it. I have wanted a Z since 2003 when Nissan came back out with them.

WOW! I've read several incidents where 370s have been rear ended lately, but it seems the 350s are just getting hammered! Makes ya wonder if these cars have some sort of visibility problem.

NISMO IX 06-10-2016 01:33 AM

No, I believe seeing how the 2003-2008 350z is cheaper in price and being bought by the immature, the new owners are over confident in what they own or are just not using their brain. Just my opinions...... its unfortunate for a Z to be treated this way. :shakes head:

Oh my god yes I've seen those, its embarrassing. How much are G35s selling for around you guys? I saw one up for sale that had a rear turbo set up, dyno 500+hp for freakin' $10K - AND WILLING TO NEGOTIATE, no wonder ammatures are hurting themselves out there.

I won't lie though, sometimes I still miss my 350z >.> Her accident wasn't nearly was horrifying as some of these, and DEFINITELY wasn't my fault. It's all the other NJ drivers that can't drive in the rain :mad:

NISMO IX 06-10-2016 11:05 AM

The G35 around here are going for $4000 with over 100,000 miles to $13,000 with a bit less miles and closer to 2008.

Yes, its quite funny or irritating watching people appearing to forget how to drive when it rains. I feel physics is an essential thing to teach most young adults. It may save lives.

MagmaRed370z 06-10-2016 11:51 AM

I have to agree that its because the 350z is becoming very affordable. give the 09 370z a few more years and its going to be the same thing.

mults 06-10-2016 02:52 PM

I think that immaturity and the lack of driving skills behind the wheel of a true sports car can lead to these type of accidents. My son sold his Kawasaki ZX-11 many years ago to a younger kid who did not have a lot of riding experience. The last thing my son said to him was, "try not killing yourself." Well, about 2 weeks later, this kid was riding in a fashion that he was not used to and t-boned a car at an intersection. Fortunately, the kid wasn't hurt too bad.

Something with speed potential and an inexperienced driver can be very dangerous indeed...

No, you're not an ****, I completely agree, however I feel the only reason I keep updating this is hopefully the right people see this and hopefully at least understand nobody is invincible. I feel bad for both the people and cars as this could be anyone's family member or friend. We as a human race need to be exposed to these things to hopefully save a life, either through parenting or looking out for friends. Most here in these stories probably know/knew better, only if they had a bit more self control and knowledge lives could be saved.

Richaholic 06-11-2016 03:53 PM

Hey I mean **** happens, but when you don't learn from your own or even others mistakes/reckless actions then that "accident" is no longer an accident. I don't know about you guys but I've learned from both my own experience and just reading sad articles like these to keep my racing for the track :D

So, not technically a 350z, the report said 2012 350z:shakes head:, for obvious reasons we know that is not true.
