FJ Cruiser (or other mid-sized SUVs)
I am in the market for a mid-sized suv and going to be test driving an FJ cruiser this weekend.
Anyone have experience with one of these and know what I should look out for? |
I had an FJ Cruiser. That thing was extremely hungry for gas. Now that gas is cheap it wouldn't matter. Great in off-road. Good quality.

I have fallen in love with the FJ and have test driven 4 in the last few months. So unique although everyone I mention it to thinks it so fugly. The blinds spots are insane, visibility made me walk away. Accleration wad pretty horrible too. But they looks so sweet in black. I'd even considered the white but would have to put a fat grill , running board and paint the bumpers all black.

I've heard about the poor visibility especially through the rear but I have 2 friends that daily their 6MT FJ and say it is really not that big of a deal.
I imagine it is kind of like our Z, just need to angle the mirror and use precaution while switching lanes. Plus a back up cam won't hurt either :) Good thing about them currently is that they are highly sought after since they've been discontinued in 2014 |
Agreed 2014 being last year they are not budging on price. One if my employs has the yellow one and swears but it. Toyota quality and reliability can't beat it. The back up cam in the rear view was sooo tiny I couldn't use it. Guess I'm old I'd need a baby screen. Best wishes sure you won't have any regrets!

the current FJ is cool, but i dont think it really captured the landcruiser FJ fans of yesteryear.
completely different from the FJ and more a street machine, but the current murano looks pretty nice imo. if u're into offroad might want to check out the jeeps..? :ugh: |
