Grinding at crank

Never posted a video, hopefully it works.. So gf decided she wanted to build a miata (lol) I have no idea why. Anyways I feel like it may be the starter but it sounds like such a horrible sound I wanted to get a second opinion from you guys. :tiphat:

Edit: forgot to mention that it does it once in a blue moon, seems like when the car sits for a while. It's hard to replicate it.

It sounds like the starter is going out.

The bendix in the starter is going out.

So I replaced the starter and it fixed the issue.. But there was some damage to some of the teeth on the flywheel. Although the car does turn on, every once in a while I can still hear where the worn tooth is at, I get a small hint of the old sound just not as severe. Seems like the new starter is catching the teeth pretty well but I don't suppose it'll be long before they wear out completely.. Maybe a year? More?
