Subaru 216A details announced (Subaru's version of Toyota FT-86)
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99
According to some these rumors from today, the Subaru version of the FT86 will be called "216A" and have both turbo engine and AWD tranny. But it'll also be heavier, bigger, and more $. |
Longer & slight wider with AWD, I will take the subaru version please.
|
Damn, depending on final price and hp for the turbo version I may end up trading my 370z. In the end I was deciding between the Z and STI and while loved the AWD the Z won out due to it's much better looks, coupe styling, and of course much better performance. IF suby can bring me a coupe with awd and plenty of hp with FI to boot I'm sold.

That thing is SICK! It's about time Japanese car manufacturers started bringing back affordable sports cars. It's funny because it's a recession, and the last bad recession was in the early 90's when the twin-turbo rage began...but sadly, the mid 90's killed it all. All good things come to an end.

Why not trade the 280 and/or 300? |
talk about stealing the spotlight

Looks very nice!
I'm going to be looking for a AWD car for next year, I would love to get this baby. >:] |
With all you jumping ship, this site should be renamed the216A.com
370 fo life! |
I never said I was going to jump ship, I would gladly own my Z and this car together, especially by the time it comes out I may have moved to colder climates and want something with AWD.

That Subaru and the Genesis are great-looking cars! Only time will tell if they're great Sports cars, too.
|
When is the 216A coming out?
|
Subaru SVX 216A? :p
|
Funny, I was looking at an 08 STI before getting the 370Z, the Z won out for several factors, mainly looks :-) being able to run wider tires, syncro rev, etc.
An AWD coupe with 300+turbo Hp and possible rear seats would be nice though. |
this car will be incredible in the subaru version and the toyota version, especially if they can keep it under 3000 lbs.
|
i like that subaru!
looks f-n sweet in the pics... |
If they make an AWD STI version with like 280ps I'd have to get it over the Z. It's just more practical in Chicago winters.

Subaru is one brand I haven't experienced personally. This coupe definitely has my eye.
|
Looks good, bout time they got a 2 door back on the market
|
interesting. I think the suby version looks better than the Toyota version; especially the wider stance.

while i like the subie version - i would probably stick w/ the toyota version for the rwd platform
|
I don't care for that Subaru looks like a Mustang, S2000 and a Z had a baby together...
|
Looks exactly like an RX8. WTF
|
If I got one, the nearest dealership is 2hrs away since the one here closed :eekdance: don't think it would be worth it for regular maintenance.
|
i like the suby..hopefully it comes with ej25.
|
Telling you guys, I found my next daily driver!
