What is the point driving a sports vehicle in the twistys with cruise control or letting the vehicle do the driving for you.? NONE. I'm with you on that one. If I drive a sports vehicle and there are curves ahead, that's where the fun begins. That is the moment when I'm fully connected with the vehicle and enjoying it for it was designed. |
its still cool tech. I wouldn't use it either, but its cool. Just read another article that Audi has a self driving R8 that can navigate a racetrack. also, the author rode with Kimi in a Ferrari and they were saying that it will soon be possible to save the pro's laps and then have the car reproduce them for you.
Tadge Juechter was saying in the article that it would also be possible for the HUD in the vette to possibly show you the driving line on the racetrack, like a playstation, and then also give inputs to help you achieve that line. It could range from subtle to full on autopilot, depending on what you select. The only thing I am looking forward to self driving cars though is for the drive to work in traffic. |

I have a free bus and light rail pass through the County here in Phx and I can't use either of them, because the buses don't run during my hours (I could get to work, but then would have to wait 1.5 hours for the first bus to go home (I get out at 3:00p). And light rail doesn't go beyond 19th ave (I live in the West Valley). So ******* stupid... err, wrong thread. :icon17: |
