2016 Nissan Maxima: A 4-Door Sports Car If Sports Cars Have FWD And CVTs

Zbrah 04-02-2015 01:43 PM

Nice seats. That is all.

6spd 04-02-2015 01:45 PM

Lmao, same thoughts as I sir

Seraphix 04-02-2015 02:26 PM

Not feeling it, front's a little much and the rear reminds me of the q50, it's bland.

MagmaRed370z 04-02-2015 02:45 PM

I like the steering wheel.

Everything except the exterior is better about the new Maxima. The character line running off the front fender midway through the front door is a bit much. The rear tail lights could be more aggressive, they look too pedestrian. The V motion grill should stand for vomit. The blacked out C pillar makes it look like a saddle in the middle, not a very sporty look IMO. I do like the lights, edges of the front bumper, hood and the rear quarter panels. It looks like a Hyundai Accent took steroids, that's not a compliment.

This was a real 4 door sports car with one of the first "ORIGINAL SPORT MODE" buttons and it actually worked. Not like those cheesy sport modes in the chrysler back then. It was fast, nimble and cornered like an RWD.

Yep, same here. Love that diamond stitching. Hyundai/Kia has been doing it for a couple years now. So damn...Bentley-ish.

This fkn thing.

I stopped reading when I got to "performance CVT" in the press release.

60% of the parts are new in the otherwise 25 year old VQ35.

It's still a FWD VQ with a CVT. Which means, they added splashes of Murano to an Altima and will price it as such.

No thanks. Apparently Nissan has never heard of a Subaru WRX STI, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Audi S4, BMW M3... you know... REAL four door sports cars.

This bloated whale of a cash-in on the Altima parts bin is just more mediocrity from a company who turned from putting out true bang-for-the-buck cars that were always sporty to appliances designed by pencil-pushers.

This car pissed me off. Dumb. Altima with Bentley seats and a Hyundai front bumper with a rear quarter inspired by the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

BUT DAT HALF-ASSED FLOATING ROOF THO! 4DSC!

GaleForce 04-03-2015 09:13 AM

I think it looks ok.

JARblue 04-03-2015 09:25 AM

I don't think the exterior is ugly. But that steering wheel on the other hand :barf:

ZeeingAround 04-03-2015 09:39 AM

YOu know if the inside of that steering wheel were all red leather, you would like it!
