Nissan GTR question.
 

Do the GTR's have as many silly issues as the 370z? Example: The lame as CSC and dual mass flywheel in the 370z. Oil overheating crap.


When did Nissan become so bad? I feel like I am driving a Dodge/Chrysler product. The older Z's didn't have these stupid issues. Yeah, a warped front rotor from time to time. But that is about it.

Have you personally experienced any of these issues? I personally can’t say I have. I honestly think Nissan is not in the business to produce cars that are due to fail. As far as the GTR….who knows.

I was once a Technician for a Nissan dealer. Never did we have these stupid issues. Maybe a one off here or there. Must be a Fiat thing.

Experience myself, Yes. Clutch fluid looked like coffee when I bought mine used at 19,000 miles. One of the first things I did was to flush the fluid and clean the reservoir. I have since had to do it again. My CSC failure is right around the corner.

Nissan is cheaping out on all their cars. The GTRs have some issues, maybe not as many though

Every manufacturer has their issues. I'm a Technician for Mercedes Benz and $150,000 cars have issues out the a** with their electronics. I believe the SL63 AMG has 91 computers on board. That's a recipe for issues.

I got a check engine light a few weeks ago on my 2015. Hooked it up to the OBD-II and it was reading evap leak. From the GT-R forums it looks like the evap canister being a piece of **** has plagued a few folks. Other than that I daily mine and haven't had any issues.

Cleared the fault and just being lazy about taking it in to the dealer at this point in time.

I hate that i have to change oil, tires and pads.

Since when is a dual mass flywheel an issue? As for the csc issue i still belive some of it is bad driving habits. I eliminated my csc at 50k and it never gave me issues and looked fine when I removed it. The oil overheating isnt catastrophic to the engine under normal circumstances,and is easily fixed with an oil cooler. I look at it more of laziness on their end of not fitting one to the car knowing that people will drive it hard.

Well, what I really hate about the 370z is that when the oil temperature reaches above 220c I feel that the car gets really slow and delay in the acceleration which I don't think that the GTR has this issue

Uggghhhhh... ??? 220c? C=Celsius? Are you serious? That's 428F. Of course your car will be slow!!!! You're lucky it hasn't exploded

Now if you mean 220F? I don't feel any performance differences from 180 to 220. 220 is normal running temp for the Z. Anything over 250 usually affects performance. Over 240, perceived torque feel diminishes a little but nothing drastic..

Over 260 you go into limp mode. I never been past 255.

You can go up to 280 before it limits you.

So have YOU actually had these problems, or are they something you're just reading about? I suspect the latter.

Unlike many others who post on the internet, both my 2011 and 2014 Z's have been completely reliable and run flawlessly. Now....granted, I did not hang a bunch of useless aftermarket Tuner Boy crap on mine. No doubt that contributed. I don't have flywheel problems, CSC problems, overheating problems, nor oil consumption issues and I am confident that the vast majority of Z owners don't either.

Yes, have experienced issues. Do not make assumptions.

You can probably go to any dedicated car forum and find people complaining about the maker of that car. I don't think issues like this are limited to one auto maker.

I've owned 3 cars in my life from 3 different companies. The first 2 had their share of small problems and I've yet to have anything come up with the Z. However I don't think anything could happen that would put me off from buying from a certain maker again.
