Hyundai working on twin-turbo, 365hp V6
Hyundai working on twin-turbo, 365-horsepower V6
Pretty cooling looking concept. Looks kinda Z-like with Z-like stats. Hopefully Nissan has something in the works that can crush it. |
It wouldn't take much to beat those numbers. I can't believe a twin turbo V6 would only get 30 HP more than a N/A 370z engine. Something seems a little fishy...

Its in the 3.3L Twin Turbo mule. Rumor mill has the new Coupe being AWD with 420hp/390Tq. We hope. Id like a serious competitor to the Z35.

365 lol
It's 395 man. Over 2 years old news too |
News over 2 years old? I believe the concept image posted above by Lava is a "new leaked" image, according to The Korean Car Blog 24Feb/2015. Yes, it sound like they have had the engine for awhile, but I don't believe it's been put into mass production yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There's more news, recent, showing the mule, with an obvious inter cooler. Prob doing away with my 3.8 going to 3.3 turbo twin scroll, maybe AWD, 400+ hp.

I prefer a Z35. Better quality is guaranteed. But I respect Hyundais price per HP ratio and there's plenty of fun to be had in the genny. I'm a fan... Just not ready to plunge.

Here we go....
Exclusive: New Hyundai Genesis Coupe Surpass 400hp Mark - The Korean Car Blog "When Hyundai Motor America’s CEO was interviewed a few days ago during the New York AutoShow he said: “This all-new engine would arrive on the Genesis sedan in 2017 or 2018 and have power in the ballpark of the company’s 420-hp, 5.0-liter Tau V-8 but weigh far less.” Coincidentally our source mention this engine will be ready for production in late 2017." |
Hyundai is doin' it... No Question!!! But, I have issues withthe transmission and suspension performance thus far. The Z only needs Koni/swift alignent and sways and it's a whole other animal. Linkage replacements improve the Z but it's not dire... as with the gencoupe, it's dire. The automatic options aren't quite as sporting as the 7AT. The "Originators" of sub-premium brand "DRM transmissions make the argment a win for Nissan. Though 300ms shifts are now slow compared to todays 100ms shifts. Hyundai is at about .500ms currently. Though hyundais shifts are a little smoother, they are slower... Me, I like the course shifting paddles. You're in sport mode, the car should be torquey and jerky. Don't like the jerkiness? Keep the muthafka in D till auto has reached third gear, then swiitch over. .

Which brings me the $60k Z rumor. If that's any true??? It will be pushing close to 500hp and will be out to compete against this Hyundai for that cash level. The future in M4 alternatives is how I see it for max price of $60k instead of starting at 65K. |

2017 Hyundai Genesis Coupe | Specs, News, Rumors | Digital Trends
this may make me jealous if Nissan doesn't do anything exciting with the next gen Z. If its true |
Big difference between the picture in this thread and the link above. That concept looks like a luxury GT coupe with it's aesthetics falling just short.
|
Yes agreed... But seems that they are doing what Nissan won't by putting a TT motor in a coupe.
