Not losing its heritage with a dash if italian is how I see the new one. I do look forward to driving one, though the Z-R may get a bit jealous. The Z has sentimental value to me, but I would be hard pressed to walk away from a nicely optioned manually operated soft top miata for mid to upper 20's new that was as fun as I think it will be to drive. Time will tell. - b |
Been there, done that. Z35 or 4C for me

Hmmm. The Miata always catches a beating from the ugly stick IMO.
|
it would never replace my Z but ive never had a vert so that would be a fun car to try it..maybe. not sure.

They released the specs...."sigh". I know its THE most tracked car in the country, not taking anything away from that but for a DD, close to $30K with 155HP and 148TQ....ugh.

imaging having 155 horses in your garage... that's a lot of horses.

Not really interested. I would pick up a used one to make a turbo track/autocross rat out of in a heartbeat but IMO it's a huge step down from the Z as far as a weekend car.

They are really great, fun little cars. I had one as a second car until recently (sold off) -- jinba ittai
The latest iteration is apparently even lighter and more peppy (Hammond was driving one with glee on Top Gear) -- expect a few folks to throw a "flyin' miata" blower on it and turn the car into a screamer. Rear tails are ugly to my eye, but otherwise, I like the new design. Still, not my preference for a next car -- it will be either a Z35 or a 4c. |
