Decent Hotel Near San Fran?? Little help needed

Hey guys, since I'm from the total opposite side of the country(NJ), I have no idea what's out there in cali. Here's the deal, my one boys a 49ers fan, and a couple are Giants fans, including me. And since they're playing on Sunday we decided to last minute fly out and go to the game. Flights booked 20 mins after giants won last sunday, tickets bought. I'm trying to book a hotel tonight for the weeknd but obviously its tough to not see the places. Don't need anything overly gorgeous, just something decent and close to stadium. And obviously a couple good spots to go out on Friday and saturday night. If anyone in that area can throw me some ideas I'd appreciate it. Its kinda last minute but that's just how it goes. We would just fly out and book something but we land around midnight tomorrow so won't work too good.

Thanks guys.

While I don't know the area I can say I've always had good luck with Holiday Inn Express. I travel non-stop for work and whenever possible I use Holiday Inn Express. Not too pricey and typically decent quality with free breakfast.

Cool. I think im more looking for a good location, but don't want a sh!thole ya know. Obviously close enough for a cheap cab to some bars and to the stadium. But nothing that looks like a crimescene.lol

A little trick I've learned that can help with cost is to find large industrial companies in the area. When you check in say that you need the rate for company "xyz" because you're doing work for them. It doesn't always work but when it does it can mean huge discounts (ie. normally $130 down to $70 a night).

You have tickets for the game? Tough life, man. Go Niners.

I would stay downtown and cab it to the game. Lots to do downtown afterwards. Holiday Inn San Francisco is a nice hotel and reasonably priced. Tommy's Joynt, across the street and down a couple blocks is a nice bar and has great food., and its about a 20 minute walk to the wharf.

try the W Hotel in SF. It's close to the freeway. It's also close to Gold Club (strip club a block or two away), some restaurants, bars, etc.

You don't need a cab in SF. Take the cable cars, MUNI or BART. They go almost everywhere in the city. Use the map on your phone or tablet and walk to the stations. No wifi connections? Use Starbucks wifi. Have a nice time!
