Catback exhaust and HFC in CA
Hi,
i would like to get a Top Speed catback exhaust to enhance the lovely "music" of this v6, and I would like to use also a High Flow Cat. But is it legal in CA ? if not, are ALL HFC illegal or some brand have a CARB agreement ? Thanks. Leo. |
None of the HFC's are legal in California.

Sh*t :(

All aftermarket cats are illegal due to lack of a carb approved sticker. If you are going to remove the stock cat, go straight pipe and get the maximum gains. You can still get cited for an aftermarket exhaust as well.
|
Cali state ref tickets are quite costly.

I was considering only the catback, so the smog check will pass and the car wont be more smoggy.
However, I though the HFC was allowed in CA. Because I am not a mechanics and dont have all the necesary tool, I dont want to replace my test pipes / cat by myself ! |
You look like modified, you get cited. That's the name of CA exhuast rule.

Sorry to come back on this topic but what about use the Berk HFC with a CARB legal Nismo s-tune exhaust ? Can the CARB sticker of the nismo exhaust be confused with the HFC by licensed smog station ?

honestly if you want to work on the car in california it has to be illegal for everything lol
and still even with test pipe and turbo, no resonator. my car doesn sound crazy loud. its even quieter than my friends bolt on exhaust integra. unless i gun it. it keeps pretty quiet and smooth |
BTW tomnayone. got the supercharger thing done?
