FYI for the northend guys, I'll be down at the Bothell Burgermaster in a little bit for a late lunch with a freshly washed and waxed Z, probably the last time it'll look this good till Spring!

I did see a guy in a 240SX trying to go up James street and slide back down backwards into a telephone pole. He even had chains. I saw a guy in a white Mustang spinning around on the I-90 W to I-5 N interchange too. |
I waited late Monday night to head home from work. 90 minutes to go 12 miles, and I made very sure to detour around any hills. Parked at the Albertsons in Woodinville without even trying the big hill (good thing too, there were several cars and a big rig stuck on that hill already). Tried getting it home from there on Wednesday, spun it down a hill, recovered without hitting anything and ended up pointed back up the hill so I crept back up (I was only about 1/3rd of the way down) and parked it at an auto service store. Finally managed to get it home Thursday afternoon.
Stock tires, almost 18k miles, ~10-15% tread left. Total death trap in the snow. Has been the plan to park it for the Winter, since snow tires are stupid expensive and probably not very effective on it to begin with. The first snow just hit sooner than expected lol. Probably gonna get a 4x4 beater and chains for both (beater and SUV). Not how I was looking to send all our holiday money, but it's better than one of us losing their job and the other not being able to pay bills. Grr @ winter! Here's some pics: When I got to work, the snow had just started to fall. Forecast said 1/2 an inch max. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3..._4898524_o.jpg By the time I left work, there was 2" on the ground, 3"+ had fallen (I had cleared my car off during the day and still this much was on it when I left): http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3..._7295239_o.jpg Albertsons parking lot, 90 minutes and 12 miles later lol: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3..._2425798_o.jpg In the same parking lot is an Office Max. Their sign had a burned out F, so I figured that was worth a pic (Of iceMax) lol. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3..._8219400_n.jpg And lastly my driveway Thursday, the day it was supposed to rain and clear this all out... instead we got another inch on the ground. Thankfully the roads were super treated and the plows came right back out so it was gone before it could even settle. Go road crews! http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3..._5204596_o.jpg |
Yikes! Good to hear you got her home safe and sound! I would think with snow tires, and perhaps a sandbag in the back, the 370 does reasonably well. I have a neighbor with a 350, and what look like all-season tires, who works Boeing hours and all last week, he still beat me out the door without missing work.

You guys are crazy driving your Z in the snow and ice. I have a old SUV for that.
|
I washed and thoroughly waxed my Z last Saturday when it was cold and sunny. It hasn't moved out of its carport since. It's so shiny right now. I am emotionally unprepared to drive it out on the dirty/sandy roads. I haz a sad. :(
|
lol i brought mine out into the driveway to take a picture and couldn't make it back into the garage
|
lol when I was getting it from the Albertsons the parking lot was a skating rink and my girlfriend had to help the Z up this tiny 3" hill to get out of the parking spot because I just couldn't get enough traction. Once on the down side of that little bump I 4 wheel drifted until I hit clear pavement. It was pretty insane.
And TJ I'm not driving it in the snow intentionally, it was just not expected this early and I can't afford to not work. :P |

My Z patiently sits in the garage, waiting for the sand and gravel to go away. I saw a 370 getting on I5 at lynnwood when the snow was starting to fall last Monday. I was thinking to myself, this guys nuts.

Ah drove the Z since last week! Man did I miss it!!!

Tucked the Z into bed for the time being with an Intro-Guard car cover I got from Courtesy Nissan. It's due for an oil change so I don't want to drive it around a lot until I crawl under it to change that out, and I don't want to do that until I can get an afternoon free of rain (or one of you guys to loan me your garage for a bit...:D). It got another good bath on Friday so the cover is up against a clean and waxed finish. I was hoping to get the cover delivered before a 10 day trip I left on two weeks ago so the car would be covered while I was gone, so naturally I didn't get it till I got home! Anyways, it fits nice and snug with two cinch straps and a cable lock. Came to about $115 plus shipping which is cheaper than the covers at the Z-Store.
