NY/Long Island Open Gas Stations

Just thought this might be useful with gas being tough to find, especially premium fuel. As of right now the Shamrock station on North Jerusalem near rt106/Newbridge road has gas, but about a 45 min wait.

Just passing the info too. I've been filling up in Stamford Connecticut with no waiting period. Being in queens it took me about 35mins to get there.

I can't find any premium out here on the Island.

Cmike2780 11-06-2012 07:49 AM

The Shamrock station I went to yesterday only had premium. I don't know if there's any gas left though.

i've been using this all week. and I have yet to go to a Hess that is price gouging, and they're all organized. I've been to 4 different ones so far, I have not found one with 93 though, and I'm not driving the Z.

Yeah, I can't find premium now. Hopefully by the end of the week. The Z has about a quarter tank left.

Stop at a pep boys or autozone and grab an octane booster if they got any left. I have a few bottles left for the Z and the Escalade, they've been running fine with it. all the cars in my house require premium so it sucks but at least the lines are short.... Short for us first responders at least haha

I saw people pumping gas earlier today on my way to work in Brooklyn, BP on 64th and 4th. No clue how long the line was or if they had premium grade though. This was around 8am. I'm sure they're emptied out by now.

I really thought the gas situation would have been a lot better by now. This is insane. Also, It's way to early for winter weather here.

Could be worst, now LIPA is admitting some people might not get power back till thanksgiving.

A friend I know was quoted to have thier power back around the 25th. LIPA is in short supply of transformers and utility poles which is slowing down restoration to some areas. It's not something thier stockpile can handle for a storm of this magnitude. This isn't even counting the people down in Lido/Long Beach/Rockaways/Fire Island that were completely destroyed from the storm. A lot of people need to have inspections done before LIPA even energizes their home.

This might help, but its a bit too late. It might even make it worst the next couple of days with some people getting gas prematurely so they don't miss their window. It's sound stupid that people would react like that, but people are acting crazy lately. It's starting to look like the Walking Dead out there (gas station zombies who crave gas, but don't know why).

This is a great thread idea.

I really hope this all works out for you guys. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Looks like people are going nuts again. A lot of stations are turning up empty. Glad I filled up before the chaos.
