Ideas for a Z meet in NE region (like ZdayZ/ZNATS)

Hey everyone!

so after some thought and talks with others i think there could be a want/need for another big Z event but up north rather than in the south.

since ZdayZ and the Z nats are both in the south and i see that some people can't make the trip sometimes due to distance, time, or money. so i figure that maybe a event up north closer to some of us would draw people who don't want to or can't make the trips down south.

this is a thread for ideas and possible plans/places for a event.

anyone can contribute and any ideas/help is greatly appreciated.

I'd be in for that

As far as timing is concerned, July/August would probably be best. It gives a decent amount of time between ZDayZ and Znats.

I can't think of a great location yet, but some of the itinerary events you can kick around or consider may include:

Drag race or Track session at a Race Track
Car Show
Dyno Competition
Local Cruise (nightmare to organize, but generally fun)
Raffle
Photo shoot
Nice Dinners, BBQ's, etc

i'm thinkin typical weekend event Fri/Sat/Sun.

i'd really like to do a drag event or some form of a track event. i think that would be fun.

i dont know of many of the roads on the east side of the state to see if theres anything like the dragon for us to make a day out of it lol

i like all that. i'm sure gettin a dyno wouldnt be hard since most places will do a mobile dyno deal for a couple hours.

for track/drag ideas we just gotta find somewhere by a track or airstrip

Honestly, Western MD/PA have some great mountain roads. Maybe a ski resort would be a good idea, as you suggested earlier. I'm sure they need business in warmer climates. Might be inexpensive. Who knows?

If we can't find any twisty roads, a road course would work pretty well. Maybe we could like rent out a track for a day.

Oh look, how convenient :p

for sure. i know seven springs by me has decent summer stuff. idk about a track close to it though. i know their hotel has a decent amount of rooms. they also got some cabins and townhouses as well.

theres honestly like 6 or 7 ski resorts around the state and NY that would work

im sure theres some camp grounds out in the mountains that would work too

i'm gonna look into a topographical map once a possible location is narrowed down and see what kind of roads are around.

lol oh i know. and an hour south is a airstrip where they do flashlight drags once a month. an hour west in salem oh is quaker city raceway (drag strip), nelsons ledges are about an hour or so west in OH as well, and Pittsburgh drag strip is like 45 min east of me.

guess i got lucky with my location.

In Ohio, there is Nelson Ledges and Mid Ohio race tracks and I can attest to the many driving roads around or getting to either one. No where near the Dragon, but nothing is. I know both of these tracks have "public" days and they may be interested in hosting an event like this. Mid Ohio used to offer on-site camping and there are some hotels that are not real far. Just my :twocents:
