Anyone in the NJ PHILLY DE area throwing away their stock exhaust?
IF so, I'll take it  If it's taking up your precious space in your garage or you're just sick of looking at it in your garage or attic, I will take it off your hands! My stock exhaust was cut due to rusted bolt. So, I want to keep one in stock in case a cop want me to take it off or whatever. Also, I will certainly need one when I'm due for state inspection in two years.
thanks |
you wouldnt need to change your exhaust to pass inspection, only if you had test pipes or something. and theres plenty of shops that pass you as long you dont throw a CEL light

You won't have any trouble. Also in NJ you don't get sniffed (not that you would have anything to worry about anyway) and since you have visible and obvious stock cats, you would be clear and easy. |
If I still had mine I'd give it to you but I don't :( You should have no problem passing inspection with an exhaust, my Mustang never had a problem and my Camaro failed for a variety of reasons but the exhaust. You'll have more to worry about failing from your window tints than anything else.

Thanks for the input. The reason I am a bit nervous is because few weeks ago, one of my friends civic was FAILED due to aftermarket exhaust (cat back). Heck it wasn't even anything loud. He bought it from ebay. But since it had bigger canister and aftermarket look and sound, they failed him.My car will instantly Fail inspection considering the way HKS exhaust looks and sounds . It's VERY strict here in SJ. Also, if a cop pulls me over and give me a "fix it" ticket for loud exhaust, then I WILL need the OEM exhaust. It'll be a problem try to find a exhaust then. So, I want to keep an OEM exhaust just in case I need it.

eBay civic exhausts are, generally, the worst lol. My 370 was silent compared to the Integra's with fart cans...

Hey AK, aren't your HKS JASMA certified? I think they are and that means they are pretty quiet unless you throttle your engine fairly hard. JASMA is a quality noise standard for discerning owners (sounds good huh?).

With that said, I'm still looking OEM exhaust. :hello: I prefer South Jersey but other parts of NJ,PHilly or DE is okay too. |
i want to get an aftermarket exhaust soon and maybe selling my oem will help offset the cost, only thing is i dont know what exhaust to choose!
|
Hey AK..I know someone who you can pay $100 and they give you a PASS sticker w/o inspection ;) But I have my exhaust up for grabs..but not free. I'd let it go for $75
