MA Inspection with Tune

Hey there!

I just had a question regarding passing MA inspection with an uprev tune + tt install. I'm looking to buy a used 370z with an aam tt setup as well as an uprev tune. Only problem is that I have been reading some horror stories from people who were failed or sent to MAC because of sensor issues when they went for inspection.

Has there been any firm evidence on how to prevent this? I still see people recommend uprev, so I figured there must be a solution at this point. I already called uprev but they have not given me a call back. I plan on doing a full pre-purchase inspection obviously, so I would like to know what I should look for to make sure everything is setup correctly to pass inspection.

Thanks in advance!

Some people have gotten inspected without issue. Some have had major issues.

Yea I read that whole thread start to finish yesterday which is what made me worried in the first place. It seems that it just kind of ended though, with no clear conclusion on what to do. It just seems risky to buy a car out of state with a tune without knowing if it will pass inspection.

Unfortunately, uprev doesn't seem too helpful with it either. If I knew there was a clear way that they advise people to enable sensors, then I would be more comfortable.

Basically if I was to try and get it inspected and it failed, then I would be screwed because once you get the MAC inspection they would basically make you remove the whole tt kit. That would be super expensive, and would negate the whole reason for purchasing the car!

Thanks, I read that whole post yesterday which made me worried as there was no definite conclusion as to what to do.

This is concerning because I am looking to buy a car out of state that already has the aam tt setup with uprev tune. If I drive it to MA and get it inspected and it fails, I will be SOL because I'll have to take it to a MAC and then they will make me take the tt's off which will negate the whole reason I am buying the car.
