TIL: Reprogramming window motor is not under warranty.

Hello guys and gals. I've experienced some electrical problems regarding my drivers side windows. It would automatically go down 1/2 way after putting it up all the way. I can put it up all the way when the door is open, but as soon as I close the door, the window will go back down. I went in for service this morning and they told me it would not be covered, because no parts would need to be replaced. Service fee ($115) Honestly I feel really bummed out about all this and just had to vent somewhere. Have anyone experienced this problem before?

Since your car isn't under manufacturer's warranty, you must have submitted the problem under an extended warranty that you purchased. Isn't this explained in the terms of your that warranty?

I have the gold preferred, which said it covers all electrical repairs. Supposedly repairs and reprogramming is unrelated.

when you find out what they did to re-program you're gonna freak out that it costed $115! You can do it yourself in under a minute

Looks like a pinch sensor issue which may be integrated to the motor I dunno..

There was a good write up on here showing how to adjust the height of the glass ( it could be sitting too high on the channels), it consisted of all those adjustments, maybe that might help.

Seriously man just google it its very simple. It consists of getting in the car shutting both doors rolling down both windows at the same time then holding down the button for about ten seconds until you hear them click then rolling them both up and hold for 10 seconds until you hear a click and you're done. I may have missed something small but that's basically it. This will happen to you anytime your battery dies or gets unplugged. My service advisor showed me this for free the first time I took my car in for device at Nissan. Its a damn shame they charged you a full hour for that but just consider it lesson learned. A lot of simple issues with our car can be solved with google or YouTube

actually, I had to do it last night. I re-program mine all the time cuz I'm constantly working on my car and disconnecting the battery.

All you do is roll it down, hold for 5 seconds. Roll it up, hold for 5 seconds.
