Fuel Door Broke off
I was opening my fuel door before filling the tank and it broke off. I have 30,000Mi on my 2012 370Z.
Thanks...:shakes head: |
What do you mean it just broke off? You pressed on it to release the door and then pulled it open when it fell off in your hand? Which part failed? I am assuming the plastic hinge. When washing the car did you apply too much stress on the door? Could be just a defective part. You would need to call Nissan to see if it is covered, you should still be under the bumper to bumper warranty.

The plastic of the door hinge broke
I pressed on it to release the door and then pulled it open when it fell off in my hand. Yes, the plastic of the door hinge broke. I called Nissan and they want to inspect it to see if its a manufactured defect. Do these cheap plastic parts come painted? :ugh2:

ck with courtesyparts and ask if they come painted. probably do like how the a-pillars come prepainted.
|
I believe that gas door comes painted from the factory when you buy it.

Looks to MSRP for around $58~$60 plus tax from your local dealership. Vendors like Z1 may be able to get it cheaper if you call them with the part number. |
Met with Round Rock Nissan
The head Service Adviser looked puzzled as to how it broke but agreed to replace and install a new door. He said they might come pre-painted but I dought that based on what I read on here. They have my VIN and using it to order the part.

Replaced w/o Incident
