Will they void my warranty for exhaust?

I think I might have a bad catalytic converter but I'm not sure. Will the dealership void my 80k warranty if I have a catback exhaust? Cats are stock.

I have an aftermarket y-pipe, stock mid pipe, and then aftermarket all the way to the tips.

Thanks

Dealers cannot void your warranty. They can deny a warranty claim. In order for them to do that, they have to be able to prove that the aftermarket part could have reasonably caused the failure. Having a warranty claim denied due to a cat back would be pretty unlikely.

Do you have an extended warranty or are you within the manufacturer? One of the reason I got a CNA was that in Minnesota a part broken by another is still covered.

Aren't cats covered to 100k no matter what the manufacturer's warranty is?

Ya something like that I believe that falls under emissions.

Chances of a catback messing up the cats is pretty slim anyway. Unless of course you have something with 1" pipes. :stirthepot:

Sorry, I meant deny a warranty claim.

Yes. I thought it was 80k but either way I'm covered if it is a bad cat.

I'm afraid they might make an argument against the y-pipe which is Inlet/Outlet: 2.5" / 3.0"

You guys don't think I should remove the y-pipe at least?

Chuck33079 09-05-2013 07:49 PM

Nope. Don't worry about it.
