Change low fuel warning

I've seen numerous posts re: accuracy of fuel gauge and also low fuel warning indicator. I just had my Z serviced and now low fuel warning comes on at 62 remaining vs. previously was at 46 remaining.
How can this be reset to preference?

Pump gas in it.

Mine always comes on exactly at 50 miles remaining...

In my experience, it appears that the miles remaining estimate is based on recent driving. I have noted the following example before, although I'm sure the numbers are slightly off.

Miles remaining reads 75 miles. Approach freeway on ramp and WOT 3rd gear practically redlining it to get up to speed (85 mph speed limit so don't get all preachy). Shift to 6th and note that miles remaining reads 62 after driving less than a mile. Cruise in 6th gear for a few miles and watch it increase to above 75 miles remaining :icon17:

If it can be changed, it will probably be done via the multifunction display on the left side of the dash. The Owner's Manual should have instructions if it's possible. May have to be done by the dealer using CONSULT (or whatever they use nowadays).

Yes. This is exactly where it is. It is under the Warnings you can set - there's tire/oil/fuel etc.. :tiphat:

I've realized that the Z fuel gauge is the biggest piece of crap. It will say 40 miles then after a quick turn it goes to 15 miles, or if it say 25-30 miles then within a minute or so the three dashes come up. This is the last car you want to test it's gas abilities on low, it's very spastic.

I test the car with low gas virtually every tank, and I've never had any problems. Although, I've never relied on the gauge anyway.
