Default Passenger Side leak

My new 2017 z is also leaking on the passenger side, the seat-belt is wet after big rainy days. It is currently at the dealer, they are replacing the door seals, which I think is more of a guess than the actual cause. I will forward the pic / info about the panel and rubber seals for the clips.

Check out 2 posts above (#14), that is the cause of the wet seat belts.

Door seals on both the driver and passenger side have been replaced in my car, along with the grommets / rubber seals on the clips mentioned in post 14. I have just picked the car up today from the dealer, so I will have to monitor if this has fixed things. I'll update after the next big rain.

Picked my car up from the dealer yesterday.

The dealer did the following this time.

- Disassemble both side B pillars body trim, trunk trim, seat belt assembly

- Confirmed water leak at tail gate wiring harness seal on both sides.

So it appears the leak was the grommets / wiring from the body of the car to the hatch (by the hinges). Extra sealant was added to the grommets where they attach to the car.

Hopefully this fixes things, I dont think there is anywhere else the water could be coming in thru.

I'm having this exact issue with my 2016 Nissan 370z Touring. Have you had any luck with a solution?

Things have stayed dry since the last trip to the dealer. It looks like they added sealer to every grommet around the doors and top of the hatch.

I have noticed that my driver side belt has been somewhat damp but wasn't sure if it was actually wet or just my mind playing tricks on me. Anyways, it rained pretty good last night and my belt was wet for sure. Mind taking a picture of the hatch grommets that they sealed?

The panel that runs above the window, from the windshield to the back window, has clips holding it in place. Those clips have a rubber seal where they meet the chassis. That rubber either deteriorates or distorts to allow water underneath. That is the cause of the wet set belts. I had my Nissan dealer replace both panels AND the clips, AND reinforce the rubber barrier, and so far, no wet set belt. Picture attached.
This was exactly the problem with mine.

Thank you for posting this info!

Even though I showed them what the issue was, they still are unable to resolve it. 93 days in the shop over the last year, trying to resolve it. I contacted a lemon law attorney, and Nissan is buying back my 2016 370Z Nismo. I am done with Nissan, bought a 2017 Corvette.

Remove the weather stripping and there are a couple of screws underneath.

I am assuming the weather stripping has clips that just pop out?
