Drivers Door Window Will Not Go UP!
This has been resolved thanks to TreeSemdyZee and Shadoquad. Thanks again to both of these guys. If you read this and get anything out of it give them REP!
So i go into the dealer up in KS to get the drivers door panel replaced because part of it was splitting under the extreme heat we were having a few months ago. (they ended up putting in a new one that was warped but ill get to that in a bit) After the swap, when the mechanic re-plugged in the wiring harness to the main switch/plate the drivers window rolled all the way down and then stayed there. I tried all the reset procedures and even waited to hear the "click" when holding down the switch but they refused to go up at all. As soon as the mechanic unplugged the wiring harness from the main plate and then hooked up a few pins to the wires in the back of the switch/plate and applied power, the window rolled up...Again tho as soon as the main switch was reconnected it went all the way back down. Now at this point the want to order a new switch, but i dont have time to wait since im on leave and i go down to Texas where i leave the car with Baker Nissan. They sort it out and declare its a bad BCM, replace it and everything works fine. Now leave ends, i go back to KS and head back to the dealer there to get the door panel replaced with one that is NOT warped. During the swap the window again rolls allll the way down..and stays there. This time they tell me they dont have time to trouble shoot it for over a week, then when they will be able to get it in they will need the car probably for almost a week. I leave for a school in VA in LESS than a week and a half. Side note, baker nissan had the door off multiple times and had no issues, its only once the dealership in KS pull it off that it goes crazy. Now idk what all they could screw up when pulling a door if anything, its just a couple pop pins made out of plastic that hold it in place. SO...ive convinced the service manager to order a new BCM and we will try that again. The reason im posting this tho is to see if anyone else has any input to share on this. Ideas are welcome. |
When you take the door panels off, you have to do a much longer reset procedure. If I remember correctly, you hold the button down for about 20 seconds. Not in the automatic position, just like you were rolling the window down without the auto function (first click). Then, roll the window up under the "manual" setting and hold for another 20 seconds.
The first time I pulled the door panels to work on replacing the speakers, I hooked everything up and the windows wouldn't roll up. I about crapped a brick because there were storms coming. Once I did the long reset, it worked fine. edit: Seems like it might be 15 seconds. http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/8...aker-swap.html . |

Yea im tracking the reset, problem is when it goes down a bit at a time, it will still go back up if you pull up on your switch for it. However the issue with mine is it just auto rolls down, and then when you pull up on the switch it doesnt move at all. Its not until the switch is disconnected and remote power applied that you can get the window up. Unless your saying youve had that issue (not the down a bit at a time) in which case ill go reconnect the switch and try that. |

If this works ill become your loyal fan  |
Another tidbit that is key: Make sure the door is closed while you try this.
I spent nearly an hour going "Y U No Work, Door?" before I learned that the reset won't work with the door cracked open. |
Oh yeah. Then there's that. :eekdance:
