Oil Filter maintenance light on.
 

The oil filter maintenance light came on while i was driving today.

It's only been 1004 miles since my last oil change. I use K&N filter. the oil temp is pretty stable under 200.

why does the oil filter light came on, anyone?

Did you reset the maintenance reminder when you changed the oil last time?

strange because last oil change i didnt do anything to set or reset the oil filter maintenance schedule...how would it know to remind me when i didnt set/unset it?

so you guys are saying theres nothing wrong with the filter itself?

it's set, by you, to come on at whatever interval you set. So if you didn't reset it, it's still going to come on wether you changed the oil or not. You'll have to go into the maintance on your info center and set it for what you want, both oil and filter.

believe me...i read the manual more often than you.

on the information screen, one of the menus has a maintenence menu.....

So what was it that happened? I have that same "filter maintenance" light come on the other day as well.
