Premium Mandatory?

Hey yeah so I was at the gas station today and opened my gas door, and inside it said premium unleaded only (93) sooo I was wondering do you have to fill the Z with premium or will mid-grade be good enough? Will it effect engine performance if you go with mid-grade?

theDreamer 07-28-2011 10:48 PM

91 or better only

This is why everyone should read there entire owners manual cover to cover. This is a expensive sophisticated peice of Japanese brilliance and you should be very fimialr with her.

The cheaper gas won't save you money.
I had a Celica GTS that required premium and I decided to run the lower grade gas. I didn't go to regular, just mid-grade. The mileage dropped so much, not to mention the increased pre-detonation, that I ended up spending more money on the lower grade.
Use 91 or above or you'll regret it.

How much are you filling up per gallon in Middletown? In Torrington it's 3.99 and in Stamford it's 4.39. Crazy how much gas costs and changes price from town to town in ct.

Wow that sucks, it really amazes me that even gas stations down the road from each other have major diff in prices, but o well watever my baby needs to drink even if it is expensive. N u live in torrington huh? Know of any other ppl with Z's round CT? I just sent my online appilcation to join the CT Z club! its the only actual Z club I found around me.

cerruto 07-29-2011 01:54 PM

cerruto 07-29-2011 04:26 PM

Yes I am but only recently. I have yet to attend a meeting. I did meet the presendent of the club and see his 350Z.

Cmike2780 07-29-2011 04:31 PM

OP, if you fill up once a week, the price difference is about $250 a year over regular. Chump change for a $35k car and peace of mind.
